Went to buy a drill bit to place a curtain rail. The place looked reasonably ordered. The sales assistant was able to advise me how to use an electric drill to puncture a wall to fit a curtain rail. I having no experience on this. I would visit again if I needed some tool advice. More...

Very good traditional shop, great to have around the Croydon area as turtle's shut down many years ago, and larger shops often don't understand what you are asking for,so highly recommended and a real high street gem, atmosphere and great customer service not changed at all over the decades, but still keep stock up to date with modern demands.

Recently needed to replace a lock on my double glazed front door as we were locked in the house. The guy was round within 30 mins and had the door open in double quick time. Needed to replace the whole lock on the door as it had broken and was really pleased that it wasn't as much to do as I feared.Nice guy very professional More...

This is one of a rare breed !! an old style Ironmonger & locksmith shop where you can still buy 1/2 a lb of nails, well it's equlivant in kg anyway or 3 screws.
I doubt that this shop has changed over the last 30 years, and it's how I remember it from the old days, it even still has the old smell of oil, grease and paraffin I remember. the staff are very helpfull and know what their talking about which is no so common in the larger shops these days. So I reccomend a visit even if it's just to have a snif.
The locksmith, Ed can also get you out of trouble with speed and without smashing you door down
