David sang at our wedding and made the evening. From initial communications about what we would like him to sing, then to his professionalism on the day building up to a top notch performance that wowed our guests, I would not hesitate to book him time and time again. I have since seen him perform in Ronnie Scotts, The 606 Club and Pizza Express Soho proving that his is at the top of his game. More...

A true star! I first saw / heard David Tughan perform at a wedding and immediately booked him for my sister's 40th. He was an absolute joy to deal with - professional, accommodating and surprisingly humble for someone with such phenomenal talent. What a voice! Book him while you still can! More...

Dave Tughan’s voice alone is simply amazing - add this to his presence, charisma, talent, humour, good- looks, and unbelievable connection to the songs he sings- makes Dave Tughan a truly mind blowing artist. And .....then add in his ridiculous talent on the saxaphone.I have seen him perform countless times throughout the years and every time my spine tingles, my eyes prick with tears and my heart soars. I walk away elated. If you are lucky enough to hear about one of his gigs, buy a ticket and take everybody you know. Better still have a party and book him to perform. This artist should be amongst the stars. Thank you David Tughan. More...

Fabulous jazz singer!

Dave Tughan is such an incredible singer and all round entertainer. I've seen him at half a dozen live shows and every time it's different and memorable. His repertoire is broad, and he moves with ease from beautifully sung ballads like 'A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square' to more modern and uniquely arranged tunes like 'What's Goin' on'. His voice is so romantic and rich. Close your eyes and it's Frank singing. But he can really swing too, and there's some great arrangements. Using some clever technological trickery he managed to sing and create a wall of amazing live vocal harmonies and you'll never hear a more swinging and bonkers version of 'Route 66'. It's brilliant! He's also a really funny and warm host. I saw him compere a great wild night upstairs at Ronnie Scotts in Frith Street earlier this year. Highly recommended. More...

David our "Jazz Singer"was professional from start to finish.

His communication from the booking stages, mingling with guests at the event and his actual performance were excellent. Any questions I had, were answered speedily, his rapport with my guests which included all ages from 11 to 75+ was outstanding and everyone commented on the standard of his performance.

The Birthday Girl had a fabulous evening, enhanced by the Jazz Singer and I would have no hesitation in booking him again or recommending him to friends and family for theirs.

Q&As

I love creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement where people feel relaxed, entertained and get up and dance. Being an integral part of a personal and special occaision allows me to sculpt the music to fit the mood of the room and be involved in what the unique requirements are from each special event be it a wedding reception to a 60th birthday party, I like to get everyone involved from the grandchildren to the great-grandparents!

I've been Jazz professionally since 1992 and the most has most inspired me over the years is that all audiences are different and there is always something new to learn about singing and performing. I also get to travel the world and perform in amazing venues for thousands of people. I'm constantly meeting new audiences making connections with new musicians and industry professionals in the hospitality and entertainment business. I was inspired to be my own boss and create the kind of music that I really enjoyed and could bring my own personality to the music and feel like could inspire others too in the process.

Many function singers like to have a niche, like a tribute act. They have become very popular these days and there is no doubt that the the top class tributes are pretty amazing. However, its easy nowadays to pass as a Sinatra singer or Ratpack tribute act with a a little publicity material on a website. Where I differ from those who perhaps do this as a sideline , is that I do this for a living.

I've been a professional Jazz singer for over 20 years, I have trained at The world class Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I have two albums which were critically acclaimed in The Guardian, The Observer and The Times and the major Jazz publications in the UK. I perform Regularly at the world renowned Ronnie Scott's Jazz club in London and I travel the world singing at festivals and events in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Aisia.

As part of my continuing commitment to my professional development I take regular singing lessons with Singing professors from the Royal Academy of Music in London, to ensure my voice is always developing.

I have been working with the best Jazz musicians in the UK, who are regular players at Ronnie Scott's, since graduating from Guildhall. This ensures you get the best quality and most in demand musicians in London today.

I'm not a tribute act.

I'm the real deal.

I bring all the sophistication and fun of the Classic Jazz era of Sinatra and make it my own, singing old favourites in a fresh and exciting way.
