We had the pleasure of Jay taking our engagement pictures this past month after it was pushed back a couple weeks due to Hurricane Dorian's uncertain path (he was very flexible to reschedule our photo session). I had been searching for a while in the North Florida and South Georgia area for reasonable prices without losing the caliber of work and we found that with Jay Grubb Photography. I stumbled upon his work when looking at wedding venues in Southern Georgia and saw some of his wedding pictures on their website which made me search for him and found his work to be exactly what we needed and wanted. He was offering a special discount on his packages and to further save some money, we drove down to St. Augustine to meet with him there. It obviously turned out to be worth the drive as this was a gorgeous location to take our pictures! My groom-to-be and I don't exactly take pictures on a consistent basis and definitely not professional pictures, so we were feeling uneasy and camera-shy at first, at least I was, but Jay made sure to keep the conversation and jokes going to get me to open up and relax. When my husband and I started talking about a photographer for our wedding, we knew that this would be one of our “absolutely no settling” things about planning. After all, We will have the pictures forever; looking back at them, Telling friends and family about our amazing day and not to mention one day when we are old and maybe have kids, we can show them our perfect day just as it was through our eyes My Aunt actually suggested we give Jay a call. When I spoke to him he was very professional and he was available on our day We kept in contact over phone, but mostly email (which this introvert LOVED). He asked about the venue and I was able to share pictures so he could become familiar with the landscape and different options. He also asked me to send him some examples of some of the picture/poses I really wanted included. On the day of my wedding Jay showed up early and got straight to work. He took the pictures of the “little things” early, before much was going on. He went back and forth between the brides room and the grooms room taking pictures of use getting ready the our closest friends, and he was never in the way! He went out of his way to make sure he got perfect “The Picture” every time, even hanging half way off the dock, we were worried he would fall in Taking all of the pictures we wanted pushed the timing behind a little, but he even stayed later than what we agreed to make sure he got the dances I would highly recommend Jay as your photographer for all of your special days!! Jay Grubb Wedding Photography did my daughter's wedding last month at the River House in St. Augustine and did an AMAZING job. Jay is not a photographer; he is an artist. I chose Jay because the photos on his website were breathtaking. He did not disappoint when he did our photos. When I saw the proofs this week (which was ONLY four weeks later with retouches, etc.), I couldn't believe how stunning they turned out. The beautiful lighting, the perfect angles, the dramatic effects were all there. There are several pictures worthy of being in an art gallery. I won't go on and on, but do yourself a favor and use Jay if you care about getting the best possible photos of your event. It should also be noted that our wedding was a tough assignment due to having a total of 16 attendants in the wedding party, 25 relatives for a group photo and over 150 guests that took full advantage of the open bar. Jay managed to keep things running smoothly and we were able to stay on time with the prepared timeline throughout the day. And on top of everything else, he was always pleasant and professional. We hired Jay to be our Photographer, Videographer & run our Photobooth and our wedding was at the St. Frances Barracks in St. Augustine, FL! I will say hiring Jay was the BEST decision we could’ve made. He was the easiest vendor to work with and he has such a high standard of professionalism. He has such a great team to work with as well! I’m very glad we decided to hire him and his team for all of the photography, videography & photobooth because they all worked so well together. He made the whole process so smooth and convenient (especially for those stressed out brides, like me). His packages were BY FAR the best pricing for the quality of work and what’s included in his packages. Also, his turn around time is unbelievable! We received our photobooth stripes only TWO DAYS after the wedding and the wedding picture proofs to choose from only ONE WEEK after the wedding! We had the privilege of having Jay Grubb capture the moments of our special day. We decided on a small beach wedding and being a DIY bride i was extremely stressed and short on time (late to my own wedding) Jay was on top of things capturing moments of my bridesmaids and I before the ceremony and came early to the wedding so that he captured the venue and decorations before the crowd arrived. I was upset that I ran out of time before the ceremony to take posed pictures with my bridesmaid only to find even more beautiful candid pictures once our photos were finished. I will do my best to put into words all the fun and special memories Jay created with us on our wedding day! Besides the actual getting married to my Husband part, taking pictures was the most enjoyable part of our day! As with most weddings, there was some drama between family, a late start, an outside wedding on the hottest recorded day for that month and because of a misunderstanding by a well meaning friend there was no planned live music for the reception. But through it all, Jay was one factor I didn’t have to worry about and in fact, enjoyed! He made it an experience, like an escape inside the moment! He didn’t give into what I saw as chaos around me. He brought his own atmosphere of fun and ease. He was creative and also let us be creative on the spot too! In doing so, he captured the most amazing wedding picture ever (in my humble but very confident opinion ) He was kind, very polite and comfortable to be around. Wow! Jay is amazing! Simply the BEST!!!! I am in awe of his professionalism, attention to detail, costumer service, talent, passion for what he does, and his kind heart. When we were married we didn’t have enough money for a videographer. And I promised myself that for our 10th Anniversary I would save up for a video of our magical adventure together as hubby and wife. I complied photos of our courtship, wedding, newlywed life, and growing family over 10 years - and then found Jay to piece it all together with my song list for a video. I am still in awe of how amazing his talent is! He was super patient with me getting all the photos complied and creating a song list. Jay is everything a photographer should be and more. Not only a master of his equipment, but also insync with his clients. Jay could sense when we were antsy and would check with us in between shots to see how we were doing. His politeness and efficiency during family formals was superb considering how challenging our family can be to get on the same page haha. Jay's style was everything we wanted it was very candid and non intrusive. Every now and then he would simply re-position us for better shots, but in a way that was still natural. Wonderful!!! We found Jay after researching local photographers online. With his rave reviews on multiple sites, we booked him for a sunrise engagement photo session on the beach.
