I cannot say enough about how great it was to work with Jason and his team! When I was searching for wedding vendors I was sick over the cost, then I found Jason Ward Events. The prices were unbeatable and something my family could actually afford so we knew immediately we were going to give him a shot. I used Jason for several of my wedding services; Photography, DJ (both ceremony and reception), Videography, and up-lighting. This team was incredible. From the start I knew it was going to be great because Jason was very quick to respond to every bit of correspondence. Jason had a website portal that allowed you to lay out the schedule of events for the entire day, choose when you wanted everything, what songs, etc. It helped my husband and I along the way so we knew what we needed to decide on and we felt confident their team had the information they needed to go into the big day. When Jason and Tory showed up on my wedding day I was instantly relieved. I had been sick to my stomach all morning worried if the weather was going to cooperate but the two of them eased my anxiety and made me feel all would be alright because I had an amazing team looking out for me. Jason was full of ideas on pictures so I didn’t have to worry about brining my own- though he always asked for our input or if there were any additional shots we wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to speak up. The DJ services were awesome- everyone had an incredible time and loved the personalities from the team. I felt like Jason coordinated the entire event for me and I didn’t have to worry about a thing all day. Our parents were so impressed with their services and beyond that I can’t count how many of our guests complimented on how much fun they had and how great the DJ/photographer team was! I had a sneak peek nearly a week later of at least 20 images which we loved and got so many compliments on and am looking forward to the rest of the photos and video. First off I just want to say Thank you for everything!! Jason and his team did such an amazing job!! We hired him for our daughters wedding because he has so many services to provide, and his work was amazing! ! We used his DJ service, photography, video, photo booth, and uplighting!! He did NOT disappoint!! He has everything layed out on the website for you, from the timeline, to all the music you want played for each and everything!! He and his team were very professional and down to earth!! He went out of his way to help with things that were not even in his job description!! Which took a lot of stress off me!! Amber was the photographer and let me just tell you, she was a Godsend!! She dropped what she was doing and went from photographer to part of the family!! Since I planned the wedding I could not be in more than one place at a time!! She was there for my daughter when I was not able to be!! Hire Us? Lol, no but seriously, you have to have a professional who can read your crowd.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
The perfect mix of formal vs crowd hyping. Again, give us a direction and you will be matched with the perfect staff member.
What do you love most about your job?
Being such an big part of one of the most important days of their lives. That is the biggest compliment anyone can pay us.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I got into DJing first actually by accident... We had a class reunion a number of years ago and I had volunteered to find the entertainment. I booked a guy 6-9 months in advance and less than 2 weeks before the event he cancels (something about having to get out of town fast) I didn't ask lol Anyhow, after talking it over with our class pres I told her I felt so bad that I would just bring, borrow, and rent enough equipment to pull it of ourselves and that's what we did. I had so much fun and had so many people ask me to come do events after that, that it just turned into a profession! I Started reinvesting half of everything I made on pro equipment and the rest is history.
As for the videography, even as a kid I was always the camera guy. Family reunions, bday partys, graduations, even stealing my parents camcorder to make scary movies lol Never thought I'd make a living out of filming until I saw how big of a hole and demand for it there was around here. Photographers were a dime a dozen, but to actually have an edited muliti angle dvd of your wedding was unheard of unless you wanted to pay thousands for someone to travel here from one of the big cities. I had a lot of experience in multi track audio recording and the programs for video are very similar, So I just started throwing a two angle dvd (filmed from cheapo cameras) in with the video package for free. Didn't take long until people were asking about the video as much as the DJ service so I just built from there, Invested in pro equipment and training and I like to think we keep getting better every year.
