My session with Jason was the most comfortable I've ever been taking headshots. I am absolutely in love with what we got. Jason prepares . He listens. He allows you to just be. He reminds you to breathe. And he speaks in the language of an actor, subtly directing, getting you to match the attitude to the look, so that everything just.. falls into place. I had the best headshot experience I've ever had working with Jason! His direction was spot on, and not only produced amazing headshots, but also put me completely at ease. I've never really liked getting my headshots taken. I always feel awkward, clumsy, and like I have to be absolutely perfect. So, I was pretty nervous when I went to get my headshots taken by Jason. He was so great when I talked to him in email, and super helpful, but I still had all these awful memories of getting my headshot taken. As soon as the session started, however, I was put at ease. Jason's directed me to some of the best headshots I've ever had, and I loved every minute of working with him and Morgan. Jason and his make up artist, Morgan, made my headshots a totally stress free experience. From the beginning they listened to me but also recommended things about my outfit and look based on their expertise. My makeup was more than I would have done on my own, but Morgan totally knew what would actually read on camera and my pictures look totally natural. She is crucial (and very funny). They will ask what kind of music you listen to and really get you happy and comfortable in front of the camera. Working with Jason was an absolute dream. Yes, many photographers ask you the right questions, but I've never had anyone truly listen the way that Jason did. He completely understood what I wanted, and really worked with and directed me until I got there. So, here's the thing: I sort of waited until the last minute to book my session and sent Jason a message a week before my visit to NYC. I wasn't sure that he'd have time to fit me in, but he was able to work me into the schedule without a problem! He and Morgan are both incredibly professional and down to earth. I felt at ease as soon as I stepped into the studio! Jason asked me what my favorite kind of music was and had us listening to 70s and 80s songs on Spotify before I knew it. Hearing my favorite songs totally inspired me to be my normal, goofy self -- which also means we got some truly genuine photos out of the bunch. Morgan made sure that my hair and makeup looked natural and radiant, just as if I were applying it for an audition back home. She chatted with me about my career goals and about my time in NYC. By the time I got up from the chair to shoot I felt beautiful inside and out. Jason and Morgan make sure to personalize the experience for every individual that comes in. Between Morgan's makeup skills and Jason's knowledge of lighting and angles, these two work some real magic behind the camera. I am in love with the results and cannot recommend them highly enough. Jason and Morgan know how to create a winning combination. Like so many actors, I had never had a productive/comfortable shoot and was never satisfied with my results. The unlimited exposure policy eased my mind and Jason was able to get everything we needed in just two hours. Likewise, makeup included got me excited. Jason knew just the right coaching to get me activated without me feeling I had to put on a mask. When I first met Jason, I saw him shoot food (which he's amazing at), but little did I know he was also an incredible portrait and headshots photographer. He really finds ways to make his subjects find expression and feel comfortable when their being shot. So many headshots and photos seem forced or "like a headshot" and Jason is able to find the moments that give you a sense of who the person truly is. I am so very glad that I had the opportunity to work with Jason and Morgan! They are amazing human beings and their work has been incredible! This was my first time taking professional head shots and even though I went in not really knowing what to expect, I left smiling and extremely excited to see what we had done that day. Jason and Morgan are the bomb(dot)com Ya’ll, I love being on a stage. I love being on a set. I am not a fan of getting my headshots done. I’ve had them done a few times both in New York and LA, and never really feel completely pleased with the product. I feel that there always seems to be an air of forced cheesetastic fantasy in them. Jason sent me the proofs from my shoot on Wednesday and I am overwhelmed with the amount of options that I have to choose from. I have never felt more confident in the fact that I will finally have accurate headshots to represent me in audition-landia. Also, towards the end of the shoot we did a more glammed up look. When Jason suggested it, I almost spoke up to say no. When I’ve done that in past headshot shoots, I never end up using those photos because I look like a prostitution whore. Hey y'all!! Here's the deal. I needed a new headshot. I already knew Morgan and loved her makeup work. I looked up Jason's website, his shots online, and dug his angles and lighting skills. I FREEZE in front of a camera, so I was incredibly nervous and worried about whether I would be able to loosen up enough to get one shot, let alone multiple shots to choose from. IT WAS THE MOST ENJOYABLE HEADSHOT SESSION I'VE EVER HAD. Jason and Morgan were incredible!! Morgan is such a talented artist! She knows exactly what will look impeccable through the camera and is able to tailor the makeup to your specific taste. Seriously, my makeup has never looked better. And this is coming from a girl who is no stranger to a beaten face. And then there's Jason... y'all he is awesome. I froze up just like I knew I would as soon as he pulled out the Nikon. But he knew exactly what to say to help me through. He gave me physical direction that was VERY specific. At first I thought "there is no way these angles look natural or flattering". I was wrong. Just so wrong. He asks for these minute shifts in position because HE KNOWS WHAT IS GOING TO TRANSLATE THROUGH THE CAMERA. I have so many incredible shots. I had the most wonderful time shooting with both Jason and Morgan! First and foremost, I was very happy with the results.
