I commissioned Jan to develop a character in a cartoon style for an incredibly important campaign to help the families of deployed military personnel to cope with their loved one being away from home and involved in the terrible war in Afghanistan. The material we worked on together over three years targeted children of service people who were vulnerable to social problems, poor health/lifestyle and internet abuse: Story books, comics, calendars, educational material, posters and more. Jan is a fantastic cartoonist and he began his career working on The Dandy and Beano. He always gave more than what was asked, met all deadlines and was tremendously helpful and flexible all round in every area of the design and illustration process. He is an affable chap with a lively sense of humour. A pleasure to work with but more importantly his illustration is of an impeccable standard.
