Describe your creative process.
My creative process starts with getting to know the client and what they need. With over 5 years experience, I know the right questions to ask so that I can have a clear picture of how the project will look. I will discuss with them what style and format would work best for their project so that they can be effective in engaging their target audience. I will then ask for their written content and any images they want to use. This process allows me to be clear on the client's expectations, and therefore to work efficiently and provide them with good value for money, and hopefully minimal edits.
I begin my design process with the content, creating a final product that both enhances and reflects the content. My top priority is creating readable and engaging projects that are true to the brand of the organisation or business.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I usually ask for some styles that the client likes, or to see some media that they have previously produced. This allows me to enhance and improve the media, rather than completely rebrand what exists. I need the content (text and images) plus any fonts the customer uses. It is usually helpful to discuss a rough timeframe so that I can complete the project when needed.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people and the creative process of design. These two elements really come together in the design process. I have been described as being personable which is helpful when working directly with customers. I am a creative and find great joy in providing designs that make people happy and that add value to their business or organisation.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked in the design field for 5 years, always keeping a close eye on current and upcoming trends. Having my own business allows me to tailor each project to an individual client, rather than mass producing a generic style. I love the one-to-one interaction with clients, listening to their needs and meeting them as effectively as possible. I also enjoy having a competitive rate for my clients due to minimal overheads.
