How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Make sure head height is 2.2m. Access to loft. Services to loft. And if there is water tank or chimney in loft can it be removed.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
1 the roof space is inspected for suitability. 2 loft is cleared and prepped. 3 retiring is assessed. 4 new floor joists fitted. 5 floors are insulated and floorboards laid. 6 rafters reinforced. 7 velux window fitted. 8 staircase fitted. 9 roof lights installed. 10 the roof insulated. 11 partition walls erected. 12 wall plates and first fix.
