My son has been taking both piano and guitar with Scott. Scott has a really chill vibe and has experience as a performing musician (drummer from Des Moines-based band, Envy Corp). I've been really impressed with not only the skill my son has developed on both instruments but the variety of genres he has been exposed to. Recitals are optional but give the students the experience of playing solo and with playing with a group of musicians in a band. More...

James Biehn and his cohorts are running a unique dealio here.  My son started taking guitar lessons with James a year ago.  The previous year, he had been taking them elsewhere and his playing really wasn't progressing.  More importantly, he was losing his interest in playing.  Enter James and the CIML.  We got his name from a friend at church and signed him up.  Within 2 months, my son's playing was noticeably improved and his desire to play (for fun and enjoyment) was back.  Then, we signed him up for their Rock Band program.  WOW!.  My son got set up with 3 other kids and formed a band and perform on a semester basis.  My son's playing has improved so much, it's honestly inspiring.  When he and his group are on stage I'm BUSTING!  So awesome to see.As a teacher, James is patient, encouraging, and just plain fun.  He and his team are gifted teachers and mentors.  Highly recommended.
