The food was absolutely delicious. There's a wait to get into the restaurant, but we'll worth it–get your name on the list and grab a drink near by. Waiter was knowledgable, personable and attentive. Awesome environment, low-key and eclectic, packed with interesting art. More...

Creole is the best food ever. Weird that you walk through the kitchen to the dining area but totally fits the NOLA atmosphere.

From my Sazerac to the Cornbread and Shrimp and Alligator Sausage Cheesecake to the blackened redfish and stuffed catfish. .. our mouths were watering non stop! Happy we had a chance to eat here while in New Orleans. I will telling everyone I know that’s going down there to make sure to stop in there! Fantastic service and ambiance as well! (make sure to get a side of red beans and rice and some greens... so.. damn.. tasty!) More...

5 stars. Wow. Blown away by this place. I usually dont eat so much but I just couldn't stop. Corn bread was light and tasty. Alegator souffle thing tasted good and was my first time eating reptile. Spinach salad had an amazing dressing that was somewhere between creamy and oily while not being too much of either. Cajain Bouilliban was a fantastic mix of tomatoes, basic, celery, and seafood with just a little bit of spice. This is what I couldn't stop eating and felt on the verge of overdoing it from. The sides of corn and coleslaw were decent but certainly not the star of the night. If I'm ever in New Orleans again, I'll definitely be stopping by for another great meal. More...

Never disappointed at Jacque-Imos. True New Orleans classic that everyone should try. Small restaurant (you have to walk right through the kitchen to get to your table) with a big menu and big flavors. Often a wait, but worth it. You can always go next door to the famous Maple Leaf bar and drink while waiting on your table, they will come and get you. The alligator sausage and crawfish cheesecake (savory) is a signature dish that you should definitely order. More...

We came here for appetizers at the bar after a show at the Maple Leaf next door and the jambalaya and gumbo are affordable and so, so good. Definitely coming back

A friend said we "MUST" come here, and it did not disappoint. The complimentary garlic cornbread is unique, warm, and so flavorful. We started with the alligator and shrimp cheesecake and crab-stuffed shrimp - yum yum yum. The kids enjoyed fried catfish and shoestring fries. I loved my crawfish etouffee, and hubs' rack of lamb was awesome. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed yet fun, and the service is personable and attentive. It's pricey but worth it for a great night out More...

Phenomenal meal. We had the drum and redfish. Succulent sauces highlighted the perfectly cooked fresh fish. The best meal we had in New Orleans by far. Ate here 19 years ago and the food continues to be some of the finest in the city. Wow! A great destination! More...

Chance text at Guns N RosesOn alien groundJacques-Imo’s experience. The moment Slash melodically crushed the solo in Estranged, I received a random text from a friend in New York. Jane was giving me unsolicited advice on where to eat and dwell whilst in New Orleans. She insisted I make my way through the city and experience the food at Jacques-Imo’s. Her street credibility was impeccable, needless to say, my friend and I chartered an Uber the next day to this local popular haunt. The lighting was dim at Jacques-Imo’s. A neon sign above the bar casted a hypnotic green glow across this alien landscape. Barely visible on the wall (you have to search for it) was a copy of their menu that somehow hitchhiked a ride on the Space Shuttle, and I’m assuming, the only menu to go where no menu has gone before. We were not surprised to find that there was a one hour wait for a table. Deterred, we were not, however; we were hungry for both food and an intangible experience. We quietly took two seats at the bar. At the galactic center of Jacques-Imo’s we met the tender of the bar, Vince. What at first seemed like a standoffish drink slinger, was actually quite the opposite. A highly engaging bar keep, dressed in New York Islander garb and would not hold back at any discussions over the game of hockey. My friend Jane had highly recommended the Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp Remoulade, which I ordered immediately. We also ordered the stuffed Catfish. Unfortunately, due to the previous night’s shenanigans, I would not be enjoying a nice glass of wine or any adult beverages with my meal at Jacques-Imo’s. As we waited patiently for the experts to prepare our forthcoming meals, we discussed which NHL players scored 50 goals in their rookie season and of course discussed the Islanders dynasty, the Oilers dynasty and a formidable Flames team from the late 80s. Our food arrived from unknown parts of the restaurant. The Fried Green Tomatoes, which I admit ignorantly I had always thought was strictly a movie title, was in actual fact, a great appetizer. We go on trips to distant places to watch concerts and try something truly different. Jacques-Imo’s delivered on that philosophical desire. The stuffed catfish, is perhaps one of the best dishes and meals that I’ve ever experienced. Completely different from my regular dining experiences. Not that I’m an adventurous eater, no, with that said, I this dish was extremely rich in flavor. It didn’t taste fishy at all. The stuffed catfish was so addictive, that in a rare moment, I was unable to even stop and take a photo of the dish. The tragedy is, that I probably will not have such a dish again, unless I find myself back in New Orleans. Stuffed Catfish aren’t on menus in and around Calgary. My friends, do I recommend Jacques-Imo?Absolutely. I can only hope that your experience will be equal to and or exceed mine. For the logistic lovers:Service, come on, Vince was superior in every way. Table wait, who cares, what’s the rush? Ambiance, revel in it. On a side note, Jacques-Imo’s also was the first stop in what became quite the serendipitous evening. As I mentioned earlier, the night before, colorful drinks with colorful names had gotten the best of your reviewer. We had gotten separated from new friends that we had made at the GNR concert. By the time Paradise City was playing, it was every man, woman and soul for themselves. As we sat at the bar, we befriended a local lady who told us tales of California. At some point she had suggested that we head up the street and continue onto a place named Snake and Jakes. We took her and her advice and headed to this dive bar. And of course, our friends from the GNR concert, Damien and Dakota were promptly sitting at a table. After a joyous reunion, I had no choice but to celebrate with a host of drinks. Good day Sirs and Madams. More...

Amazing experience with Monique & Jacques Imos as our wedding caterer & bar! We looked at many different options and deciding on them was a no-brainer. We were able to have the familiar awesomeness we already loved about the restaurant and they were able to add unique elements per our request. They were organized and friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! Our guests were very complementary of the food & we're still enjoying the left overs. We'd definitely recommend working with their great team (and get the oysters--it's a crowd pleaser!). More...

It’s been 17 years since I ate here last, and tonight I got to bring my family for the first time ever. Jacques-imo’s did NOT disappoint! Still as amazing as ever - maybe even tastier. The duck gumbo and rabbit sirloin were both phenomenal; the stuffed catfish was to die for! More than the food, though, the service was just amazing. Every staff member was kind and thoughtful, even charging my partner’s phone while we ate. Also... tonight was my daughter’s birthday and the staff made the experience wonderful - even getting the other guests in their intimate dining room involved.I can’t recommend this place enough!
