Visited Jacobs today to take something in for a valuation. I had my 7 year old and 2 year old sons with me who would rather have been anywhere but a jewellers on a Saturday morning. They were immediately furnished with colouring and lollipops to keep them occupied while I completed paperwork and we all left happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jacobs. Last September we got my engagement ring designed and made using family jewellery and a month or two ago bought my wedding ring and had another resized and cleaned for my fiancé. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Mel and the team at Jacobs. My father purchased a beautiful watch for me a couple of years ago but unfortunately I seemed to encounter one problem after another with it. At each stage Mel helped and supported me through the process, sending it back to the manufacturer and keeping a detailed record. This is my husband's first stop when it's my birthday, two pairs of earrings and a watch, and most recently a lovely ring. However the ring was vintage and a stone fell out that day, all of staff were brilliant, it took a while to fix it, but they kept me well informed and gave me a lovely pair of earrings as compensation.

The staff are all knowledgeable and professional, Ciara especially!

I contacted Jacobs when I was trying to find a signet ring for my daughter's 18th birthday. They had the best relevant selection but above all were the most attentive and helpful, in particular Mel who couldn't do enough! I had left it quite late and bearing in mind this was all done via email they bent over backwards to have it engraved, which was beautifully done, and delivered on time! Having bought a few gifts from Jacobs over the years I knew they were helpful, reliable, and sold quality. That's why I went to them for the big purchase. I needed an engagement ring but didn't know where to start having been given the 'sell' elsewhere. Jay was a star. He talked me through all the options, the things I needed to consider, and the things I didn't. Never any pressure, always patient and listened to what I wanted. From helping me decide on the diamond and the design mount, to sourcing the diamond, making the ring, and boxing it up for collection in time for me to take it on holiday to ask the big question took a week. Just recently, we had some rings adjusted by Jacobs.My wife's rings were fine, but, I felt that my ring was still a bit tight. My husband wanted to get me something special for my 40th, so we went back to Jacobs as we were so pleased with previous jewellery including our wedding and engagement rings from Jacobs. Jay completely blew me away by creating the image I had in my head. I have very specific taste so am probably not the easiest of customers. Trying to explain to someone what you want and for them to visualise it as you do is not so easy. I recently bought myself a Cartier watch from Jacobs and have found the whole experience a total pleasure. I made my purchase and the following day I realised that I had picked the wrong style of watch and although the bracelet was altered for my wrist, they changed the watch over for another style that I absolutely love.
