I booked Jack & Maya to cook lunch for a large family celebration - 50 people. All initial contact was professional but friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Jack came and cooked a bbq for our office in middle of nowhere…. No running water, no place to prep, nothing!!! And he did an amazing job. We could have been in a 5 star Michelin style restaurant. Thanks maya and Jack.

If you’re looking for an expensive soap opera with lots of dramatic twists and turns and a daily cliffhanger, this caterer may be the one for you. Sadly, I had other, more prosaic intentions - a simple but elegant Valentine’s meal for two. To that end, hiring Jack proved both an absolute waste of time and a complete rip-off. One measly star is too generous an award but there are no zero options.

I booked Maya and Jack at the end of January, paying them a 50% deposit, However, although they displayed glowing reviews and promised much, they delivered absolutely nothing. They failed to even come up with menu suggestions, despite my repeated requests and constant chasing. Two days ahead of Valentine’s Day I therefore had to cancel them and try to source an alternative caterer at extremely short notice.

At this point they also failed to honour the terms of their agreement and refund the deposit. A string of daily excuses have since followed, ranging from the frankly bizarre, to volume of work and personal breakup. The next episode is now in production and (spoiler alert) it’s a courtroom scene. More...

We booked Jack and Maya to cook for us over a family weekend away and all of us we’re in love with not only Jack Maya but the the food! ! It was amazing, Jack made sure the menu was to suit us and our children for the whole weekend. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough.

Jack and Maya are the team I’ve been searching for, the holy grail of catering. They’re fun, skilled, adaptable, helpful and on top of all that (which would ordinarily already be more than enough! ) - excellent chefs with a really sophisticated but unfussy approach to food. I work for a well known publisher and threw a party for an author and he loved it. I look forward to making it a tradition and using them for all my author launches. If you’re in two minds and want to go with a more established caterer, don’t! Give them a go. You won’t be disappointed. Sometimes taking a chance really bears fruit. I would rather throw my money away than hire Jack. The 5 star rankings (I’ve come to realise are fake). He lacks integrity and you’ll essentially be throwing money down a black hole with never ending procrastination on when he’ll refund as a result of inability to deliver. Terrible fraudulent person. I have booked Jack on more than one occasion...not only is his food totally OUTSTANDING his personality and vibe that he brings absolutely compliments his food even more. I am veryyy particular when it comes to food and how it is prepared. Jack prepares the food to high standards and hygiene is superb! Jack always leaves the kitchen sparkling clean! Most private Chefs do not even keep your kitchen clean. With Jack all cutlery, dinner plates and glasses are sparkling clean even down to the surfaces. Maya who is Jack’s sous Chef is absolutely remarkable too...they both work hand in hand and bring the BEST hospitality. Jack will always be hired as my private Chef. I cannot WAIT to have him back in my kitchen again!!!! More...
