So I know that they aren't known for the empanadas, but that's just what I got... and they are absolutely amazing!I've been wanting to go to J28 for awhile now, but we just haven't made it out to Downtown Hollywood without any real plans. .. until today.The tough part is that there were two restaurants that I really wanted to try, so we actually ate before we got here, but since we were close by I decided to get some empanadas to go.The restaurant is pretty cozy but as most Peruvian restaurants, it's pretty nice and has bright colors inside.Both the beef and chicken empanadas are really good, if I had to choose between one, I would probably go with the beef, but it's a pretty close call. Â They also give you some limes and their own in house hot sauce that was really good, but just remember that a little goes a long way.I'll definitely be back to try some of their other food! More...

My whole family went here, 2 children, 2 babies, and 7 adults and they were fast and accurate with our orders. They didn’t mind the big group and we felt welcome. Great customer service here. The owner even came out a couple times to bring us hot sauce. All of our dishes were so delicious! I’d recommend this place for the food and the service! I came here for a quick bite. I was not expecting something amazing and since I was in a hurry I thought just to fill my empty stomach. .. but OMG it was SO Good!!!The customer service was amazing! So nice and passionate about what they do. He explain me everything, recommended me the best options and we chat for a bit. I ordered the pork belly sandwich (pan con chicharron) and chicha morada. Having never tried Peruvian food, I was completely unsure of how this review would go. A couple of coworkers recommended this place and I figured why not, I'll try it. I ordered the chicken breast stew (there is an actual name for it but I can't spell it) as it came highly recommend from a friend. It comes with rice and a side. I ordered the potatoes which come with some yellow sauce. Overall I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The chicken breast was cooked very well and the pepper sauce it was ub was delicious. The potatoes were also very good. The only thing that could have been better is eating hot. I didn't eat it right away which caused the rice to clump a bit. Even with the clumping rice I ate it all! The portion sizes are fairly large so you get your monies work. I absolutely would eat here again and next time try the lomo. A friend got that and it looked great too. More...

Truly a gem!  Visiting from Chicago and came up on this Peruvian spot...and it's fucking phenomenal! Eating here is almost gourmet experience.  The bread is baked on site daily and is out of this world super fresh with an amazing bite to it...I ordered the Chicharrón/ porky belly sandwich pork was super tender amazing flavors, mayo, sauce, super fresh red onions and sweet potato on the bottom was perfect sweetness to cut the richness of the pork belly...yo literally my mouth is watering as I'm typing this!! The best part is the owner made my sandwich with love! and got to talk to him for a bit really cool guy very humble. It's clean, delicious food, prepared with love by the family who own this place. Just visiting Florida for a week, was more than impressed with this little peruvian sandwich shop!Coming in, the menu clearly explains the menu items (some denote the peruvian name and also note the english name, the entirely of the dish is listed, no surprises! ) is clean and easily readable. Smaller sized menu, usually denotes the items they do make are all specialities and it shows.I tried the lomo saltado with rice and beans, and had a sampling of all 5 of their sauces as well. I'm not one for lengthy descriptions, the bowl was just well seasoned and tasty. Well cooked beef, more than enough rice and beans. Of the five sauces, the amarillo mixed with a little fire sauce was the best, though was also my favorite on its own. The green mint I could see being a favorite of many others.The owner? was very attentive to service, made friendly chit chat and made sure we were satisfied. My fiancee is already begging for us to make time for one more trip back before we fly home, and I'm thinking that's a good idea. Fantastic! More...

Came here to get the sandwiches (chicharron and lomo saltado).Let me just say this place exceeded my expectations. After hearing how folks preferred the sandwiches over the bowls, I opted for the bowls options. The chicharron was so good. They have this spread on the bread (mayo maybe?) and then put some fatty deep fried pork in the sandwiches and then add some pickled onions. MMMM the acidity of the onions with the fattiness of the pork worked in harmony. Had I just ate the pork without the onions, it would've felt extremely fatty and a little blind, but the onions and the spread complemented it so well. And the sandwich around it was just the perfect medium, it didn't let anything fall out, let you take a big bite still. The lomo saltado (which is beef) was a bit harder to eat with the sandwich. When I put the beef into the sandwich with the sauce, it just started dripping. The sandwich was pretty good, the bread was crispy but a little tough to bite through. I'm not a fan when there is more bread than the filling so this was a bit too bready for me. The Aji De Gallina was also pretty good. It had a good taste but, again, the bread was a little too much for me. This place has the yummiest Peruvian sandwiches in soflo! Actually, everything is delicious. If you're a fan of Aji de Gallina, it's very authentic and creamy. The menu has the main Peruvian flavors and they also have the best and most fresh empanadas.
