What makes a great website?
Your website is your first digital impression and you want to make sure it's a great one.
Successful businesses are always trying to improve the quality of their websites to meet the needs of their users. Often, people are visiting your website because they are seeking out something.
You want to ensure that they are finding what they are looking for quickly and with ease. You may have the most amazing business model and offer extraordinary customer service, but with a poorly functioning website, you could miss out on a significant amount of business and ultimately make a bad impression. Here at it'seeze it's our job to help you build the best digital presence for your business - no templates, just good consultative help at a great price.
Here are 7 things we feel are key:
1. Responsive design. - Searches are now predominately initiated on mobile devices. Responsive works on all screen sizes.
2. Focus Through Minimalism - don't over clutter, make the key messages leap off the screen.
3. User-Friendly - Think about how the human beings that see your sight will go through it.
4. Personalized user Experience - can your site respond to the individual?
5. Content - It's never changed, content is King. Now that there is more of it, you have to have exceptional, engaging and valuable content.
6. Strong Colours - Avoid garish but be bold.
7. Video - engaging as never before
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The first thing is to find out about the client's aspirations and ideals for the business.
Technology, such as repsonsive websites and digital marketing systems can only ever be tools to achieve a goal, so we begin with the goals.
Next we look at the various avenues in which the goals can be achieved, and this is usually a mix of online and offline elements.
Lastly we begin to match the online ideas with our capabilities, hopefully generating more options and ideas along the way.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting business owners and finding ways of helping them achieve their aims.
Small and medium businesses are an incredibly important part of the economy, and the incredible diversity of ideas and aspirations is what makes my job so fascinating.
Apart from the satisfaction of setting a site live, the ongoing support I provide my clients means I become a partner in the businesses success - that's incredibly challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a successful sales director for a range of software companies, I realised that I was in effect running my own internal business within my organisation. I enjoyed what I did, but I always craved the independence of working for myself.
I took the plunge in 2001, and started my own technology and business development consultancy. I haven’t looked back, and the experiences, successes and failures I have experienced help me understand what my clients are facing, and hopefully help them avoid some of the mistakes I made!
Why should our clients choose you?
When contacting me you are not just accessing the track record, skills and capabilities of the it'seeze web development team. almost uniquely in a company with the depth and breadth of our services, you have the personal attention of a highly experienced consultant - in this case, me!
With over 25 years of personal business and technology experience, I commit to working with you in a consultative manner. I want all my clients to be able to say they made the right decision in choosing me as a partner in their digital business development.
Resonsive Website Design and Implementation
What is a ‘responsive’ website? A responsive website is a single website that adapts to any screen size so it's as easy to use on mobile as it is on tablet and desktop – no pinching or horizontal scrolling required. The design instinctively adapts to the device it is being viewed on so it looks great on a mobile, tablet and desktop. Why do I need a responsive website? If your website is not mobile-friendly then it will not be easy to view by the 38 million smart phone users in the UK, which could be losing you valuable custom. According to Google: 60% of people won’t stay on your site if it’s not mobile-friendly 67% of people are more likely to buy a product or use a service from a website that is mobile friendly This is why Google ranks mobile-friendly websites above non-mobile friendly websites.
