I have just completed the Ithaka Leadership and Management Diploma. It was hard work, but I must admit it has really improved my management capability.
It was spread over 7 months...and involved 8 days of training, but I now see why it was spread over time. Basically I had to do 4 work based projects...but I could only complete a project by implementing what I learnt on the programme into my job. This really made me make changes. The consultant from Ithaka was excellent...he engaged our group which kept us all interested...and he had a good sense of humour. I've been on courses before where the group are just lectured to for the whole day! I got my Diploma from Coventry University upon completion which looks great on the CV.
Overall....very pleased with the personal nature that Ithaka adopt - they were very supportive and encouraging.

What do you love most about your job?
When working with a team experiencing real problems working together...then there is the light bulb moment when they realise people behave in different ways and when you take the time to understand why that is, you can turn your "difficult person" into an asset.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Demand from business itself. I was asked to start the business by a group of MD's who were all experiencing very similar problems.
