About

At It’s a Dog’s Life we aim to enrich the lives of all the dogs that use our services. A love of animals was the reason this business was founded.

I spent five years working at the Blue Cross Animal Rescue Centre during which time I dealt with a lot of dogs with a variety of behavioral issues.

Services

These visits are intended for puppies that have not had their injections yet or are too young to join the group walk. We come to break up their day and let them out into the garden. We spend 30 minutes playing with them, getting to know them and continuing any basic training you have started. We also check water, feed, if necessary, and clean up any accidents. Once a puppy has had their injections they can begin short walks and socializing with the other dogs who are good role models. It is always rewarding to watch a puppy grow and develop into a well-rounded, confident dog.

Your dog will receive a 1 hour walk in the beautiful countryside in and around St Albans. We aim to make these walks as exciting and stimulating as possible by understanding your dog’s behaviour and their favourite types of walks. This may be a walk in the woods or a trip to the river. We are then able to create a fun, safe environment for them to enjoy their walks. It is amazing how quickly their confidence can grow and it is lovely to see how many of them make a new best friend on these walks.

This is a flexible service for people who require extra stimulation or exercise for their dog. Your dog will be collected in the morning and will spend the day with their walker. During this time your dog will have 2 hours of group walks plus playtime and affection at the dog walker’s house. Drop off or evening collection time is dependent on your needs. We aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your requirements.

When a dog comes to stay at It’s a Dog’s Life St Albans they are treated as one of the family. They get a minimum of 2 long walks a day and may even join us on a day out. Highfield Country Fair is a favourite. We try to keep to their home routine as much as possible so that it is a true home from home experience. This may be something simple like a cuddle or treat before they go to bed but it can make a big difference to the enjoyment of their stay. Knowing your dog is happy and well looked after means that you don’t have to worry about them whilst you are away.
