Michelle was so kind and gracious! From the moment she first responded to my initial email inquiry I could tell she was so passionate about her work! Since I live in San Francisco and was only in Richmond for one weekend to do a trial before the wedding, she graciously fit me into her busy schedule and helped me (with some caring but honest feedback) plan a hair and makeup look that I absolutely loved!

As a curly haired gal with a slightly darker complexion, I was worried about how to make my locks look elegant, and making sure the makeup palette fit the summery, natural aesthetic I was going for. But Michelle listened to everything I was looking for, helping me create a beautiful look that maintained my natural curl texture and complemented the floral headpiece I'd already purchased. And I felt the makeup look she crated was absolutely classic. She also did a lovely job with my sister/MOH's super fine curly hair. Both of our make up stayed put throughout the day in 90 degree heat!

The girls at Island Glow were truly amazing. Alex, Kayla, and Star did hair and makeup for myself, my six bridesmaids, and four guests of honor (moms/step-moms/aunts). They did an excellent job and finished right on time! I was a little nervous because I did my trial with Michelle, who owns the company, and I have heard horror stories about doing a trial with one person and being serviced by another on your wedding day. Michelle from Island Glow did an OUTSTANDING job not only on my bridal makeup, but my entire bridal party’s as well as my Mom and Mother-in-Law for my July wedding in Washington, D. C.! I knew Michelle would be my forever go-to makeup girl, when she agreed to do my makeup for our sunrise engagement pictures last summer. She arrived at our apartment at 3:30 AM to do my makeup and made sure that I looked amazing for our engagement photos in D.C. She even helped me do my hair! On our wedding day, Michelle arrived early and set-up quickly in our bridal suite, all the while chatting and getting to know everyone who was there. She was incredibly friendly and such a joy to be around! Her positivity and contagious personality made everyone feel at ease and comfortable in her make-up chair. That is the one word that comes to mind when I think of Island Glow. From the initial emails before I had decided who to pick, to the final product on my wedding day, I felt like I was really being taken care of! Michelle and Brittney had quite a lot on their plate on my big day (8 bridesmaids, my mom's lashes, and my hair and makeup), and they made it all come together flawlessly. I was a bit nervous because of the weather holding up too (it rained in the evening), and Michelle's wonderful makeup products held up throughout the ENTIRE evening. Michelle and the team at Island Glow gave me the BEST wedding tan, hair and makeup experience! My hair and makeup trial was 2 months before my wedding, and I was immediately comfortable with Michelle and Brittany. They listened to my requests and made it come to life with the help of some photo references.

Michelle came to my house 2 days before my wedding to give myself and my soon-to-be husband spray tans. It was a 5 minute process max: easy, and I didn't have to clean or prepare a thing, Island Glow brings a pop up booth and just needs an electrical outlet. The color was natural and gorgeous, and I received so many compliments. My husband did not, which was GOOD, because his was so natural no one knew he had gotten a tan!

On my wedding day, Michelle and a team of 3 arrived to the venue 15 minutes early and were prepared to start right on time. 10 women had their hair and makeup done, and they were flexible enough to add one more person who wanted in, since they were ahead of schedule. Mother of the Bride was a little loony all day, running around and not ready at her designated time, and the team just laughed and worked with her to make sure she got exactly what she wanted hair and makeup-wise, when she wanted it.

I had pre-arranged for Michelle to stay through first look and photos, until the start of the ceremony for touch ups. But she did so much more: she helped my flower girls with the baby's breath crowns the florist dropped off when we couldn't get them to fit. She adjusted my dress in pictures, and was ready with blotting sheets and lipstick at a moments notice. She put in a flower piece that I had forgotten was coming, and my veil, when she hadn't even known that was happening. Michelle was awesome in helping me choose what “look” would be best for my wedding day makeup. She perfected my makeup and didn’t hesitate to fix anything. I love you could choose her wedding package for myself and the girls that included everyone to get eyelashes and the bride to receive air brush makeup. She was very easy to work with.
Brittany did my hair for the wedding day. She is very talented. I had three pictures of how I wanted the front, side, and back of my hair to look. She was able to bring together my vision amazingly.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about these ladies. As someone who is extraordinarily pale and had never had a spray tan before, I was nervous about how it would turn out. Michele put my mind at ease, and after a consultation on the phone and trial I felt confident that I was in the right hands. Mandy ended up doing my tan the weekend of the wedding, and she was such a joy. Both of these ladies are passionate about their work and their customers AND ARE AVAILABLE 24/7!! WOW! They are willing to drop anything and everything for their brides. I was paranoid about how one area of my arm would turn out the next day, and Mandy assured me that I could call her and she would fix it in no time. Of course, I was worried for nothing, and everything was perfect. All I can say is that these ladies are true professionals who love their work and their clients. Michelle came to Vermont to do makeup and spray tans for myself and my bridesmaids. She was willing to go anywhere we were getting hair done to get makeup done for us. She made it fun, and everyone feel beautiful. Spray tans we set up in the hotel
