What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people and being able to offer genuinely beneficial advice to help protect them and their families and loved ones. My job is often about listening until I uncover the real point of pain, which is sometimes not the first thing a client will talk to me about. By making my clients comfortable, and developing a trusting relationship, I often get to the root of the real concern quite quickly, and I then get real satisfaction from being able to find a good solution.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked as a solicitor for ten years before setting up my own will writing business. Working for big firms wasn't always working out for me (I have two young daughters and wanted to be flexible in my hours yet still be rewarded for all the hard work and effort I put in), but more importantly it wasn't always working out for my clients. I wanted them to be my boss rather than the partners in a big corporate law firm. So I founded Isla Law to make my service better for my clients, offering a personal and flexible service at a fair and competitive price. Isla law is really my way of bringing my expertise to you, direct.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have over ten years' experience in wills, lasting power of attorney and probate work, having previously worked for some of the biggest law firms in Kent. I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), which is the gold standard in private client work. I have an approachable and friendly manner and am able to explain complex legal jargon in plain English. I always aim to put my clients at ease and to take the stress out of what can be a very difficult and emotional process.
