Emily and David of Integrated Manual Medicine provide a unique style manual therapy. At first it felt a bit strange having two practitioners simultaneously addressing your aliments, but they are consequently twice as effective. I felt so much better after just two appointments.

I would highly recommend you consider their service to address your stubborn aches and pains.

I'm not going to lie: I have a social media problem and I'm on my phone way too much. What I didn't expect was the excruciating thumb and wrist pain that set in a few weeks ago. Thanks to Mr. Lintonbom and Mrs. Ho I have been able to hold on to something without feeling like crying once again. Friendly, professional, and - most important - effective. I highly recommend. If you are reading this today, I believe you are a step closer to what I can honestly call it a real life-changing decision.
We’re a diverse bunch – different nationalities, different styles, and perhaps even different philosophies. But the big picture remains the same. In one way or the other we are all trying to make this world a healthier place by starting from ourselves.

But how can one know what’s the right way to go about it? I have tried a number of therapists from unknown ones to celebrity ones..

At the time I was convinced that osteopathy wasn’t for me.
My main goal was to gain some body definition, loose weight and be able to maintain it but my shoulder and hip were inhibiting me to progress on my physical exercises.

Crazy rehabilitations? I did them all… It wasn’t working… my shoulders and hip were still problematic. I got so frustrated for not finding anyone who could guide me through, that I always gave up on it and was going towards the route of considering seeing an orthopedic surgeon for potential surgery.

But then, I found David!

Meeting David couldn't have come at a better time.. He has completely changed the way I look, the way I stand and the way I move. It also started a chain reaction of healthier living. From his guidance I started to understand how to move appropriately and began to return to my work outs finding it easier each time.

I even considered running for a charity at the London Marathon. No - I didn’t win the London marathon. But I do think the mind-body element of his osteopathic treatments approach helped to sharpen my focus, energize my spirit and boost my confidence - and those things definitely contributed to me getting to the place I am at the moment and face new challenge in my life…

Before I met David I had never experienced such a life-changing approach to body movement. I don’t regard David as only an osteopath but as a coach who guided me through revolutionary mind-body rehabilitation and showed me patiently through a combination of body movement awareness exercises and reading material from all of which I am completely thankful and transformed.

I met David in 2010.
He helped me to recover from a back injury in very little time while I was training for 10k Road running races.
Later he discovered there was more to it and following his advice I had an MRI to confirm that the problem was there to stay. I discovered that I had 3 lumbar discs dehydrated due to degenerative discs desease syndrome. I thought that my running was over but with his help and advice adapting my running form I managed to keep going up until now.
He helped me to complete my first trail marathon and triathlon.
I changed my running from roads to trails complementing my training with open water swimming, thanks to David's suggestions.
For a decade, David has been there supporting my recovery and training.
He is a people's person. Someone who listens to you when you are in physical pain and finds the best way to get you moving and steadily improving. He is also great at giving you a positive mood lift!
He always responds promptly to my calls and do his best to see me as soon as possible.
I have recommended David to my friends and I have always received praises for his work.
Be assured that with David you will find an very qualified, experienced, very gentle and polite practitioner. I couldn't recommend him enough.

Having seen numerous practitioners over the years, some of whom have considered my condition to be untreatable. David is the only person who has been able to minimise my many aches and severe back and neck pains, allowing me some respite and a better quality of life. I have referred many other friends and relations for treatment by David, all of whom have been very grateful for their successful outcome. More...

David Lintonbon is incredible. I first met David when I had a prolapsed disk L5/S1. David was proactive and sent me for an MRI scan which determined severe damage. In between the results and my consultation for surgery David’s Osteopathy reduced my pain so significantly I avoided surgery all together! Through his exercise advice and specific stretches I was able to rebuild my back and I now have no problems whatsoever.

David has also treated my sprained ankles and solved neurological problems with my hands as well as frequently resolving painful neck problems.

I am very grateful to David for everything he has done and it’s an absolute pleasure to write this recommendation so others may also benefit.

Acupuncture originates from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This is the method of treatment whose history dates back more than 5000 years and which is still used today. Unlike intramuscular manual therapy, acupuncture is based on the idea of “body meridians” or energy flows, and works at the system level, affecting local and specified points. It is based on the use of needles, their length, direction and stimulation.
ATTENTION!!! All the used needles are disposable and are used only once.
Effects of acupuncture
Deoxidation and strengthening the immune system
Relaxation of soft tissues
Removes edemas and inflammations
Improves metabolism and circulation of fluids
Relieves stress, swelling and tumors
Recovers the texture and functionality of muscles and ligaments
Relaxation of the nervous system and neuromuscular return

Low back pain, often triggered by twisting or lifting awkwardly, is the most frequent problem, and probably the type of pain that people most often associate with osteopathy. The tissues have not healed properly and have formed a painful area of inflammation. The pain often becomes worse after strenuous activity and at night. To prevent further injury the muscles become tight, causing stiffness. Osteopathy can help with both the pain and the stiffness.

However, any properly registered osteopath will tell you, following an initial consultation, whether some other form of treatment might be better. The osteopath may also caution that some conditions may be greatly eased but not eliminated - for example, severe damage to joints cannot be reversed.

Manual medicine, or manual therapy, refers to the treatment of pain or dysfunction within the body predominantly using the practitioner’s hands and non-invasive instruments to administer the treatment. It can be distinguished from other forms of medicine such as surgery and pharmaceutical medication by its non-invasive and “bloodless” nature, and it is not administered orally (swallowed) or intravenously (injected into the vein).

A manual medicine treatment often incorporates stretching, acupuncture, joint manipulation, limb mobilization, and muscle pressure and stimulation. The goal of manual therapy is to reduce pain, restore movement, and improve the internal “flow” of the body through improving joint mobility, removing muscle restriction, and stimulating stagnant internal structures and fluids.

The theory behind chiropractic is that proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. This means that a chiropractor’s focus is more likely to be on the position of the spine and joints, locating misalignments through palpation, x-rays and imaging. Subsequently, chiropractors will correct these misalignments with the aim of improving the body’s nerve function and healing ability. Spinal manipulation, which chiropractors call "spinal adjustment" or "chiropractic adjustment", is the most common treatment used in chiropractic care, but a chiropractic treatment often combines hands-on care, physical therapy modalities (e.g. ultrasounds) and exercise. Many chiropractors also incorporate nutritional counselling and exercise into their treatment plan.

The aim of physical therapy is to rehabilitate and improve a person's ability to move and function, using their expertise in anatomy and physiology to treat movement disorders and health conditions. While physios are well-known for their treatment of sporting injuries, they also develop treatment plans and work with premature babies, stroke recovery patients, brain or spinal cord injury victims, and people with conditions such as Parkinson's disease, arthritis, osteoporosis and cystic fibrosis. They are well-known for re-training patients to walk, cope with crutches, walking frames, or wheelchairs, and more generally, helping lessen recovery time after trauma or surgery. On top of manual therapies and exercise programs, physios are more likely to employ electrotherapy techniques like Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), laser therapy, diathermy, and ultrasound. Physios tend to work in a wider variety of environments including hospitals, sports clubs, and rehabilitation centres for example.
