About

At this difficult time of self or forced isolation I am offering sessions over Zoom.
I have previously undertaken training for working online.

There’s no need for you to suffer in silence. I offer a full 60-minute session.

Q&As

I love working with people and seeing them progress, build awareness and make the changes they want to. I work in a client-centred way, meaning that the focus is on you, what you want, or need, how you want to move forward, and what changes you want to make.

I am passionate about good emotional and mental health. It can be something we take for granted when it needs to be something we invest time effort, and sometimes, when we need to, money, into. (It can feel self-indulgent, but in reality, it is often self-preservation.)

It is a privilege to witness the growth and change in a person, and an honour to be their confidante - sometimes the only person they have told a secret.

There is much that I love about counselling, but for me, the best part is when a client feels ready to move on. I know then that I have done a good job!

I have been in practice since 2006 and teaching counselling since 2009. I decided to set up my own training company in 2015 after working a 55 hour week and travelling 350 miles a week to work and back for over 5 years. It was a leap of faith, but I have no regrets.

I have a wealth of experience in various settings:
Experience - In practice since 2006

In the last three years, I have been working with Mindfulness in my work with clients who have shown an interest in it, which has significantly helped their process.

I have extensive experience in working with clients in the following fields;

Addiction
Anger
Anxiety
Attachment
Bereavement and Loss
Depression
Domestic Abuse: Emotional, Physical, Sexual
Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (formerly known as Borderline Personality Disorder)
Family Issues
Personal Development
Relationship Issues
Schizoid personality disorder
Self Harm/Injury
Sexual abuse
Stress Management
Trauma and PTSD

Other areas of experience are:

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME
Phobias
Sexual Problems
I have worked in the following settings:

Private health care in a psychiatric hospital
Addiction Unit (12 Step programme)
Private Mental Health Care
NHS setting
Currently in private practice

I can provide remote sessions via Zoom or Doxy and I completed an 80-hour course on working ethically and effectively with clients remotely. This was completed last April.

I work face to face and remotely, but when restrictions are lifted between lockdowns I ensure that I have at least 45 minutes between clients to enable a good clean of the room, (door handles, door panels, the bathroom handles, loo, taps, sink etc..) Individual small towels for hand drying are provided in the bathroom and are washed at high heat after each use. I have had all 3 jabs and take a lateral flow test when seeing clients to ensure that I don't have COVID-19 without symptoms and will continue to do so until the need has passed.

Services

If you often feel:
Overwhelming anxiety/stress
Confused / misunderstood / unheard
Lost / alone
Overwhelming loss
Fearful/tearful but don’t know why

Or if you:
Overthink
Have an inner critic/nagging voice
Struggle to turn off the negative thoughts
Want to understand yourself better and discover what you need
Then you’ve come to the right place!

I offer to work with mindfulness for clients who might benefit from its effects. This is very much a personal choice for the client to make.
