This is a magical place with top notch amenities and comfort. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The Inn has such old world charm. The restaurant was fabulous. Kudos to the owner Carl and the cook Joe and all of the staff.  Sitting on the front porch of the Inn at night, we felt like family. This would be a great venue for a wedding or a family reunion. Great hike to the falls with a convenient trail right from the Inn. Thank you to all of the staff for making my birthday special.Anne and Mitch Kniffin More...

We had a wonderful weekend at the Inn, while moving in our Cornell student. It's 23 minutes from campus, but worth it. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Rooms are lovely and plush. No TV in the room but we didn't need it. The firepit on the porch at night - complete with blankets for cool nights - was a lovely added touch. Dinner at the Inn is consistently great - crabcake and scallops both delicious. We were lucky to have Lloyd as our waiter for dinner and breakfast - he is a true gem. Kim and Tiffany at the desk were both wonderful. More...

This place is a treasure overlooking Cayuga Lake! Our family stayed in Hillside, which is a house on the property where we each had our own room and bath, but connected kitchen and family room where we all gathered by the couches, pool table, xbox etc. The staff is very responsive and treats you like family, even bringing out extra homemade muffins for my kids after breakfast was officially over. Then there is the adjacent walking path to the 200+ foot falls...taller then Niagara...quite unbelievable. A must stay on your visit to the finger lakes region. More...

Two Words ...Amazingly Perfect! We had the most Fantastic experience that we could have asked for. Our stay and all the staff was absolutely wonderful. I hope and desire to come back in the near future when our baby girl gets a bit older. We would not have had this intimate experience if we would have stayed anywhere else. The character and quality of this place was worth every penny, speaking of... it was priced great as well ! More...

Perfect!! I honestly do not know where to start! Tiffany and Kim have been working with me for some time now getting ready for this special day, they both have made this experience for me!!!! I should have been so nervous with traveling so far but they made me feel so confident with everything. The front desk was so helpful, the housekeepers were personable and always there to assist. The food was delicious and exceeded every expectation I had. We needed for nothing and I even stayed an extra night because I just wasn't ready to say goodbye. I cannot wait until next time! Thank you to all of the staff at the Inn!!! More...

Simply Amazing. By far the best location and property if you are visiting the finger lakes. I did a ton of research and was nervous I wouldn't pick the right lake to stay on. Trust me this is where you want to be. Whether it's the wine outdoors or eating you can all find it within a couple minutes of Inn at Taughannock!! Rooms are very clean with the most amazing views. We had a great Thanksgiving meal here! My daughter in law made reservation and put down a deposit weeks in advance to us arriving in town. We started out with a cocktail. I had the lavender cosmopolitan-meyers lavender vodka, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and club soda. It was really good! My son had the New York South-bulleit bourbon, fresh sour mix, Pinot noir float. My daughter in law had the . My husband had the Myers Mule-with cranberries. I thought they had a great specialty cocktail selection. They had a preset menu for the Thanksgving meal, several choices for each course. I had the roasted butternut squash bisque with toasted pepitas. It was good, could have had a little more flavor or spice, but it was fine! The rest of our group had the shrimp cocktail to start. 3 of us had the roasted turkey-my son asked for dark meat and they easily accomodated. It came with mashed potatoes, green beans and stuffing. I was impressed that they had a gluten free version for those that wanted that. My daughter in law said it was the best turkey breast she has had! We couldnt believe the portions-they were huge! My husband had the short ribs that came with sweet potatoes and gravy and veggies. For dessert 3 of us had the pumpkin pie-loved the real whipped cream-came with a little cookie too, and my husband had the harvest apple crumb pie. We enjoyed our meal and had lots of leftovers to take home. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out fast. We had a nice table by the window (it was a bit cold-but we were there on a record breaking cold day) and we had a great view. Loved it! More...

The main building has been beautifully preserved. There are gorgeous views of lake Cayuga from the main dining room and the outdoor fire, heat lamps, and blankets make even the coldest New York night feel cozy! Our dinner at the inn included local beef, locally grown vegetables, and wild salmon from Maine--and it was absolutely delicious! For dessert we had the most amazing chocolate cake. It was sooo rich...I'm still dreaming about it!  The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful and there is a gorgeous waterfall just 10 minutes from the inn. The inn is also surrounded by a ton of close by wineries, breweries, and cideries. We really enjoyed exploring and loved that we didn't have to go far to find more beautiful views and drinks! My wife Maricelis and I recently had an AMAZING dinner at the Inn for our anniversary celebration. We have been wanting to visit the Inn Resturant since last October  - we are Rotarians, and after the hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico last year ....the Ithaca Rotary Club put together a fundraiser and the Taughannock Resturant was an early supporter and helped our Rotary Club raise $10,000 to help senior citizens repair their homes and their lives. Our anniversary dinner was an incredible experience from start to finish. My wife and I travel extensively and have the opportunity to experience great restaurants around the world... and the Inn provided a world-class dining experience from beginning to end... We had reserved a table with a view and were met by the Resturant Manager. She welcomed us and had noted from a comment I made when I made the reservation, that it was our anniversary. She took us to a table with an amazing view and asked if she could bring us a complimentary glass of champagne to start the evening off. Our server reviewed their specials, we ordered the house special salad to share and my wife ordered the duck and braised cabbage and I...apparently one of their specialties, the roast turkey dinner. When the salad came we were both shocked, it was a HEALTHY portion of locally grown greens and fruit and very tasty. Both our entres were delicious and too be candid the turkey dinner was truly amazing and HUGE serving. As my wife said, "the stuffing is to die for".Great service, scrumptious food, breathtaking setting. Thank you for making our anniversary so special... PS, we will be back .....and we both want to try your brunch!!!   Dennis Gray More...

My Husband and I wanted to take a long weekend getaway for our 5 year anniversary and for my birthday.  I did a lot of research about where to stay at the Finger Lakes and presented the options to my husband; he chose The Inn.  We could not have been more pleased with our selection.  We arrived on Friday and the staff was overwhelmingly friendly.  We had a few cocktails at the bar and Cheyanne could not have been more pleasant and accommodating.  We then had dinner at the restaurant and the food and the service was outstanding-we were even treated with complimentary champagne for our anniversary!  After dinner we sat by a fire out on the patio with some wine and met some other guests who were just as pleased as we were with the accommodations.  We ended up on that patio every night of our stay meeting new people and just relaxing.  We stayed in the Edgewood house room 85; the view was astounding and we could not get enough of it.  We had brunch at the restaurant on Sunday and again it was phenomenal.  Later that day we hiked the falls which are literally a pathway away and beautiful!!  We ran into Gigi (manager) quite a few times during our stay and it is very apparent that she really makes every effort to ensure that all of the guests are pleased and well taken care of!  It was such a great weekend and we can not wait to return next year and possibly make this trip a yearly tradition! I recently travelled to Ithaca NY and stayed at the Inn at Taughannock. Coming from Los Angeles, this was my first trip to the area and I had no expectations. Within a day I fell in love with this hotel and all the wonderful people who work here. The hotel ambience was warm and inviting, my room (the Falls Suite) was at par and as comfortable and tidy as the rooms in the Montage or Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, but with breathtaking views of the lake. The hotel is next to a beautiful State Park, with great hiking and a breathtaking waterfall, it was a very relaxing hike.  You'll never get tired of the scenery. The hotel and restaurant service was amazing! Great chef, amazing complementary breakfast, just the dinner service at the restaurant is worth the stay there. The staff was very warm and friendly, yet professional; they make you feel right at home. I highly recommend hanging out at their fire pit in the evenings; you'll meet many interesting people. What an unexpected gem, I'll hope to return, and I will definitely want to stay at this hotel again! More...

We stayed in the Edgewood, which has great views of the lake and balconies on all the (well-equipped) rooms & was quiet despite the sold out weekend. I loved the pastries at breakfast, crab cakes app & clam chowder at dinner... The scallops are amazing and the turkey dinner was delish! I managed to also try the lobster linguine, pasta bolognese, homemade chicken parm, cheese cake & an unforgettable toffee pudding cake. The staff was really helpful & had recommendations for local hikes, running trails, places to eat in Ithaca & local wineries to visit, all of which we enjoyed! We hope to be back next summer! We stayed here over the weekend and had 2 dinners and breakfast at the Inn.  The menu has so many choices it made it hard to decide what to get.  All portion sizes were fairly large- although we did finish most of them :).  These are the highlights:We started out at the bar and the bartender was able to mix me up a non-alcoholic drink because I was pregnant and my husband had a tequila cocktail similar to Moscow mule.  With dinner there was a nice selection of California wines we had the St. Clemente Cab.    Starters:- The arugula salad with mushrooms (my husband got it both nights he liked it so much)- The Crab Cakes were super fresh and delicious- The Rainbow salad (beets, tomatoes, and burrata drizzled with balsamic)Mains:- The chicken parmesan is to die for!  It comes with angel hair pasta and is simply amazing.  - The Scallops are served with mashed potatoes- very different, but it worked.- The bucatini with red sauce was great! - The Lamb Chops were excellent and came with veggies and mashed potatoes.  Dessert- The Stinger Ice Cream is amazing... I wish I could have brought it home.  It is honey ice cream with chocolate espresso chips.  - The Carrot cake for two is also great.   - The cheesecake is a ricotta based cheesecake so very different than your typical cheesecake, but a lot more flavor. The settings were magnificent.  The views amazing. The servers were new and charming and could answer all questions.  We can't wait to travel back to stay here and dine! More...

They had a walkway to the falls that we did the first day and we went over to the lake the second day and rented kayaks and went swimming.  We also went wine tasting to Americana and the Thirst Owl, both really close by.  Great Location, Great Staff, Clean, and very Comfortable.  We can't wait to come back!  We were already planning our next trip on our last day. This little jewel is a best kept secret.  I almost don't want to let the secret out but if you are in this area (or even if you're not .. Go!) visit, stay at or eat at Taughannock Farms Inn. They have a new owner and new management and it's amazing. We (our family) was visiting upstate NewYork to see more of this amazing country we live in. We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend.  We happened to arrive on the evening of the great firework show hosted by the Inn and boy was that a stunner! (See photo)!! Our rooms were comfortable and the staff was amazing. Stay in room 81 if it's open because the view from the deck is breathtaking and the jacuzzi/bathtub is just what you need after a great day on the lake or a very convenient beautiful hike to see the waterfalls.  The restaurant is delicious and the chef is inspirational.  The angel hair pasta with red meat sauce is so flavorful that even if you're avoiding carbs you have to try it! (Maybe you could just order a side of sauce)! The GM Brian Simon is terrific and makes you feel like you're an old friend.  And if the man (*hollywood producer) in charge of buying and renovating this gem is around, say hello.  His effervescent energy is contagious! My husband and I have been wanting to take a trip to the finger lakes region to check out all of the wine, beer and cheese trails that they offer.  After going on Tripadvisor we decided to book our stay with Taughannock Farms Inn.  We arrived around 1pm and since our room was ready they young lady at the front desk allowed us to check in early.   We asked her from some suggestions of the best local wineries in the area.  She was happy to provide us with her favorites and also said she would leave a map at the front desk for us. After taking a nap on the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on (we stayed in the Garden Room) we went downstairs and retrieved the map, she even circled her favorites for us.We ate at the restaurant the first night we stayed there.  The service and food were excellent as was the view from our table overlooking Cayuga Lake.  The location of the Inn was ideal for us, as we were able to visit many of the wineries located on both the Cayuga and Seneca Lakes.  Seneca Lake was only about a 20 minute drive.  The Inn itself is located on the grounds Taughannock Falls State Park State and there are different trails to hike including one that will take you up to the waterfall. We were very happy with the service, in fact one night while we were having a cocktail on the deck, the bartender arranged for the chef to prepare a cheese platter for us. We would definitely stay here again. More...

Just wanted to take a moment and let you know what a wonderful time we had at your restaurant on Saturday, May 22nd celebrating our daughters' graduation from Ithaca College. We are from the lower Hudson Valley area and our daughters have been best friends since they were three years old. Naturally, we had to celebrate their achievements with our families together and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Inn and were put in a private dining room! The food was phenomenal, the staff attentive and courteous and the setting was perfect. this place was very good...I dont know why the low reviews.  really nice ambience, gorgeous view overlooking the lake (request a table on the patio), and great service.  The meals come with four courses, so its actually a pretty good value.  Really like their lobster, trout, portabello puff pastry appetizer, and desserts are amazing.  They also have a 25% off coupon on their website if you are seated before 6pm. I cant wait to go back! More...

The first part of this review deals with the accommodations.  My wife and I, and another couple, stayed here over Columbus Day weekend.  We stayed at the Edgewood, not the main Inn so these comments reflect that.  They use keys, real metal keys, the kind that go into locks.  For me, that's a plus.  It can't get de-magnitized because it sat near a cell phone.  But, unlock your door, it stays unlocked until you manually re-lock it.  Gee, just like at home.  The rooms were spacious, and clean.  Great view over the lake.  Very comfortable queen bed (they also have rooms with kings).  Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.  They have wifi, very easy to use, and apparently wired connections though I didn't use that.  Cell service is virtually nill, another plus for me.  So, accommodations, 5 stars. Now for the dining.  Our original plan was to eat in Ithaca where we had advance reservations.  But after spending the day exploring the area before check in, we thought why shlep back into town.  So we called late for a reservation and they graciously slotted us in.  They were busy, the Inn was filled.  Their setup is an interesting concept.  You buy the entree at it's price, appetizer, salad, dessert are included in that price.  I had the salad & cheese plate, a fav of mine, salad w/ blue cheese, the lamb, and cheese cake.  Sometimes I like having a complete meal like this.  This was one of those times.  It was great!  The other 3 felt the same way.  So, the dining room was full, late in the evening, but the food was cooked perfectly, the service attentive but not over-bearing.  Breakfast.  Not my favorite but still, what I should eat.  Everyone else raved about the European style fruit, light pastry, muesli, hard boiled egg, hot crepe/waffle, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea.  I want meat.  But the gals loved it and I should be eating healthy. So, if you want a place from which you can explore the finger lakes, the wineries, the creameries, the arts, and the natural beauty, I recommend Taughannock Farms. We enjoyed our "all inclusive" dinner, although the four courses may be a bit much for smaller eaters.  It's nice that they offer a juice as a starter, as that's all my tiny mother wanted....she loves tomato juice, never buys it at home, and was able to have it....you just never know what will be the tipping point for some customers!   My father loved his "meat plate" appetizer, and that's all some fathers will eat.  My husband had the mushroom & rice bisque, and would have liked more chunky mushrooms.  I enjoyed the spinach spread, but it was too much for just me.  We all enjoyed our entrees, mine being the chicken cordon bleu....nice smoky flavor, but had to take some home.  Our server was very attentive, and the meal was nicely paced.  Only small detractions were unavailability of tap beer (due to a temporary cleaning process....very important), only one "not rare enough" prime rib left (but they do tell you to call and check), and coffee not quite strong enough for my taste.  Highly recommended. On a recommendation from a friend, we dined at this lovely inn while on our honeymoon. We were looking for quiet, romantic, and palette pleasing dinner. We were definitely not disappointed! We were seated in a room with a stunning hilltop view of Lake Cayuga and enjoyed a nice selection of local wine. The dinners are priced based on the main dish and they are all inclusive. For the price of the entree the meal includes a starter, salad or sorbet, and a desert. The salad, smoked salmon, and the strawberry soup were out of this world. The duck and stuffed pork chops, which both were served with a side and seasonal vegetables, also far exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was classy as was the extremely attentive and friendly staff. Without a doubt, this is a must do for a romantic evening in the finger lakes! More...
