Q&As

We cover a wide range of accounting services from basic compliance including, managing your VAT returns, statutory accounts, confirmation statements, corporation and self assessment tax returns, as well as get you started with the Xero software.

If you are looking for a more managed service we can provide ongoing management accounts with quarterly reviews, as well as run extra processes for you, such as payroll, auto-enrolment, bookkeeping - with plenty of Xero training.

We can even provide a Virtual Chief Finance Officer (VCFO) to help you shape the growth of your business. Our highly experienced growth advisers will support you with strategic business planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, funding and exit strategy.

Many businesses get by with little financial rigour in place and some basic support from their accountant. But sooner or later they run into problems and aren't sure what to do. Nearly always the answers lie in the numbers, but they aren't in any fit state to work with.

Whatever your issues, you know that having a better grip on your finances would help you make smarter business decisions and allow you to feel more in control.

Yet, using a traditional accountant is not the solution. This outdated approach won’t give you the real picture. And with Xero, you can save on valuable time as you will already have all the data you need in the cloud.

So, why not move to a more proactive relationship? One where you share a single set of financial data with a business advisor, who'll help you improve your business performance - why not embrace the world of more informed accounting?

I enjoy helping small business owners achieve their goals whether these are financial or otherwise. We work with a range of companies in different industries and at different stages of their journey. I love the challenge of helping people to turn their businesses around and working to support them in their future growth.

Having worked as Financial Controller in large companies throughout my career, I wanted to share my expertise with smaller business owners. The Inform ethos is 'Why shouldn't small and medium sized businesses benefit from expert financial advice too?'

If you are looking for a traditional accountant, it might be time for a change. We are industry leading experts in cloud accounting and are Platinum partners with Xero. All our packages are tailored to the needs of each individual client and our fees are fixed so we are completely transparent. Our dedicated and friendly team are keen to work with clients and provide an exceptional service.

We work with many industries and partner with a number of great applications to tailor services and increase efficiencies for clients. We are at the forefront of technology and are constantly working to find and recommend the best new apps on the market.

Services

To carry out your bookkeeping, we need a regular feed of your expenditure - but in the spirit of saving you time, we provide the easiest possible way for you to record your expenses.

We’ll set you up with Receipt Bank, a fabulous mobile app that allows you to simply take a snap of a receipt with your smartphone, then automatically extracts the key data such as the VAT value, supplier and date.

It means you don’t have to hang onto receipts for weeks on end, and you don’t have to manually input the data into Xero either. Receipt Bank pushes the information from your receipts straight into your accounts, ready for us to come along and do the bookkeeping and bank rec in the most efficient way possible.

We can do it quarterly, monthly, weekly or daily to suit you, ensuring your books are beautifully up to date whenever you log in.

Statutory accounts are the obligatory end-of-year accounts required by HMRC, Companies House and the shareholders of your business. They include a simple balance sheet and a profit and loss account, and are used to calculate the amount of corporation tax your business owes for the year.

Here at Inform, we can produce your statutory accounts for you with a minimum of fuss.

We’ll complete your corporation tax returns (or your self-assessment, if you’re self employed), file abbreviated accounts with Companies House and ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation.

Best of all, we can usually help you reduce your tax liability by more than we charge for the service - so you’ll often end up saving more than you spend.

Because when it comes to understanding how well your business is performing, a glance at the bank account or order book can be deceiving - and last year’s accounts are already old news.

That’s why management accounts are worth their weight in gold. A set of financial statements prepared either monthly or quarterly, management accounts from Inform provide clear insight into the financial trading position of your business.

Unlike statutory accounts, they aren’t required by law, but they’ll put you more in control of your finances than ever before - and help you make the big decisions that will boost your business growth.

Here at Inform Accounting, our tax services for business go far beyond the compulsory annual returns. We provide ongoing advice and support to business owners and directors throughout the lifecycle of your business - ensuring your tax obligations are fulfilled in the most efficient and cost-effective manner every step of the way.

So, when you’re first starting out on the road, we’ll be there to help you structure your organisation for maximum tax relief.

And, if and when the time comes to sell your business, we’ll still be right by your side - identifying and mitigating the tax implications of the sale.

As for all the time in between, our experienced tax advisors will play a pro-active role in your business to keep your liabilities as low as possible every year - minimising your tax bill to help you keep more money in your business.

As well as a wide range of tax services for businesses, Inform Accounting offers expert advice and support with your personal tax affairs too - helping you make your money go further while fulfilling your obligations to the powers that be.

Whether it’s support in the case of a divorce settlement, ongoing investment planning for high-wealth individuals or assistance in the purchase of a second home, our team will help you get your house in order.

A partner for the long term, we will work closely with you to understand your unique requirements and situation, and provide clear, jargon-free advice that’s easy to understand.

Above all, we’ll take the stress of your tax affairs off your shoulders - because let’s be honest, you’ve probably got better things to be doing with your life.

Where accountancy was once about keeping the wolf from the door, now it’s about knocking down walls, and opening up a path to a brighter future for you and your business, through smart advice and proper financial planning.

Here at Inform, we want you to see us as your business partner for the long-term. Yes, we can look after your books and complete your statutory returns, but we can do so much more besides.

As part of our business advisory programme, we can deliver a series of sessions and coaching workshops with you, on topics such as business planning, cash flow management, financial awareness and KPI improvement.

Every session is delivered using rich and engaging content, and designed to offer lasting value to you and your business.

We'll help you get your new company set up and registered with Companies House as well as registering you for corporation tax, PAYE, self assessment and VAT (if needed).
