Gavin from Media Borne joined a training day with North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team, to capture images of the team in action. His professionalism on the day was outstanding, allowing the team to get on with their work during a challenging training exercise in the hills. Gavin was more than happy to get stuck in and capture the essence of what we do, to search for and rescue people in need. The images that we've seen so far, far exceed our expectations. Wow. Where to start. These guys are at the TOP of their game. MediaBorne have been an ever present at the Industry Angel live events and have captured some inspirational content through their video and photography skills. To ensure the end results are good it is paramount that the wizard behind the curtain (or in this case, lens) is a true people person. The secrets of taking a great photograph are understanding the subject and the story behind the subject. Creative spark helps when discovering the story and how to best show this within the subject.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The key most important question... what are you using this for and what do you want to gain from it. In our eyes we are all doing this for a reason and whether that reason is business or pleasure we all have a goal when doing something specific. We want to know what that specific need is and have our media solve it.
What do you love most about your job?
We love our jobs here at Media Borne because on every single project we get to know you and your business that no one else sees and the real passion that goes into all these amazing companies, our job within that is making that passion show when covering your storeys.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was in a corporate rat race with little to no passion to sacrifice my life for cash in the bank, working a lot of hours and only seeing the same faces or the same four walls day in and day out slowly chipped away at my soul. Now having my own business I no longer have to look at the same four walls but instead get to meet new people every day and have new opportunities at my doorstep awaiting me... although the long hours are still there, it now feels likes there not enough hours in the day!
