This is my favorite restaurant in town PERIOD. Their Butter Chicken and Coconut Curry Shrimp are to die for. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. This is the best Indian food in Richmond hands down. The sauces are so complex. It must be the spices. As soon as you walk in, you're met with the pleasant aroma of masala blends. Their butter chicken stands up to  the best I've had. And I've had it in Manhattan and in the EU. The naan is soft and puffy (don't skip the garlic naan, yum!) Took my family for dinner, spent almost $90, between 3 main dishes, 3 samosas, 3 naan, 1 dessert. The food taste wise is Excellent but here are some things to consider:- Portions are not very good. Ordered $15chicken 69 dish and got 4 little pieces of chicken and sauce. To be honest it was basically all sauce. The basmati rice was more cold than hot and all though it has cumin seeds it's not aromatic at all, it just tastes like nothing. - They take forever to bring the naan, restaurant had 3 tables only. We ordered 2 garlic naan, by the time they finally brought it my dish was already cold, and to make it worse they only brought 1 instead of the 2 that I had ordered.- Waitress was not very attentive. She brought a " clean" plate that still had food residue. She also, couldn't recognize what dish was lamb or chicken.- The food overall tastes great, the owners are really nice and the place is charming. If the portions could be more generous it would definitely be a 5 star place.- By the time you pay they iPad they use gives you tip amounts, starting by 18%, 20% and 25%....whatever happened to 10% tip More...

My wife and I stopped when we were in the area and we came across this lovely restaurant. First and foremost.. we did read the reviews and we were at first shy of eating here. .. but, hunger overcame that. We stepped into a lovely atmosphere and was greeted by a cheerful and wonderful waitress. Her name is Taylor. She loves kids and people, and she is in the right business for all of that. When you step into a restaurant, keep in mind that as you are going there to relax,  and enjoy a good meal.. coming from a waiter's point of view and also a business owner.. Give people grace, and the benefit of the doubt. Please remember that your food didn't magically walk to your table and that it didn't just come fixed in a bag ready to microwave. It was made, and put together by the cooks in the back,  and the owner Tony is a the hard working owner who helped create this wonderful atmosphere. Words can hurt.. a lot. So when any of you read this.. please take this encouragement with you... I travel for a living and this truly is an authentic Indian restaurant. Be patient, be kind, relax.. get to know the people you went with or the staff that you meet there. The world is filled with so much hate and we all carry too much pride.. be humble, and remember that everyone who works here, are just like you.. who work  hard to feed their own families. We love this restaurant! The Lamb Rogan Josh is the best I have ever eaten. The Vegetable Pakora and the Lamb Samosas are absolutely delicious. The Bullet Naan is wonderful. And, we loved the Masala Dosa and the delicious things for dipping. The Coconut Chutney and the Sambhar (Lentil soup) were so flavorful and I would order the dosa again just for them. We love the Korma too. We have had Xena as a server a few times. She is fantastic. Such a sweetie and very on top of things, in a laid back way. She made our visit great.We have enjoyed the buffet and will definitely return. The food was fresh and delicious! It is a casual place and a bit small. The buffet was not large, but the food was so good. We have probably been here ten times and are looking forward to another visit soon. We love going out for Indian food, as it is not something I am good at cooking. We visit many Indian restaurants in the area and really love the food here. I highly recommend giving this place a try. The mild to medium or hot Channa masala if you love really spicy food is awesome, be sure to try some naan which is a delicious soft bread. They have many vegan and vegetarian options as well as a lunch buffet to go for 6.99/lb or to stay for 9.99/lb. It's my new fave spot for Indian food.
