I'm a Creative Director, and I have worked with Inpress on a range of photography projects for more than a decade. Most often - they are my go-to photographers for large and challenging events.
Whether it was as our resident photographers shooting the title sponsors, and celebrities at the London International Boatshow for us across the event, or discretely capturing beautiful stills of a champagne reception for 450 guests at the Banqueting House I know that I can rely on Inpress to deliver. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Well - the million dollar question - if it's a portrait then its having the client completely at ease with you - spend some time talking with them getting to know them a bit if its an architectural job then its all about the light - after that making sure you have the right angles and great composition the same goes for landscapes... For me though its always been my favourite thing to capture whether that be on a PR shoot, a visit , event or conference, experience will put you the right place nine times out of ten then its all about capturing the moment - the one that tells the story….
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always ask what do you want to achieve - where will be the target market - do they have any ideas re styling etc etc
What do you love most about your job?
I love my job, it is absolute privilege to do what i do for a living and getting to see the things i do whether that be working with royalty or shooting on a council estate in Bradford covering a conference in New York or shooting on the runway at Heathrow, its the variety and the amazing people you meet combined with what you love and guess what you get paid for it...
I have been doing this since i was fourteen years old shooting games for my local paper then i starting college when i was sixteen shortly after i won amateur sports photographer of the year - shortly after i moved onto work at a national sports picture agency covering sport at the highest level across the country. I left the agency to work locally in Hertfordshire and luckily won Regional Press Photographer of the Year in the mid 90's - following this i worked mostly for The Daily Express leaving in 04 to work in the corporate sector. Working for clients such as Heathrow shortly followed and the in 2007 our company won the very prestigious contract to be the official photographers for the Olympic Delivery Authority for London 2012 - wow what an amazing experience and its just go on and on working now with a whole host of Blue Chip companies and design agencies - I have been very lucky but it's been amazing and as i said a genuine priveledge….
What inspired you to start your own business?
My father - family is everything and without him i would probably have nothing I really do owe everything I have to him....
Why should our clients choose you?
