Treated myself to the sensory deprivation chamber & salt room. Staff was great. I'd go back with a friend or few.

I bought the Groupon for a couples float for my friends birthday. She was 8 months pregnant at the time with preeclampsia so I wanted to take her somewhere she could relax but as many people know there are not a lot of spa like places that you can take a pregnant person to. The float tank was very large and in its own private room that had a toilet, sink, and shower as well. 60 minutes floating naked in salty water sounds kinda boring but it was so relaxing, especially for my friend. For the first time in months the weight of pregnancy was lifted off of her. It even helped some of the swelling from the preeclampsia go down! We were both incredibly relaxed after and it's something we're interested in doing more often to relieve stress. More...

As I lay there in total floatation the only thought I had was knowing that for an hour I didn’t have to worry about the outside world, the hour was mine to do as I wish! It was an hour of total relaxation of the mind and body! I highly recommend you try this once More...

I booked a first time float off Groupon for 1045 am on a Saturday. I was at the location by 1030 to find it closed; while I was contemplating calling the center on the number located on the website, I received a call from the center manager apologizing for the timing listed on the website and that the actual opening time was only 11 am. I walked in a little after 11; I was pretty much the only person and after watching a short informational video, I was provided with plastic shoes and guided to my float room. She explained the procedure patiently and I was afloat after a quick shower by 11.25-11.30 am. Being a first time floater, it took me a while to get used to the deprivated environs, but, I was pretty much comfortable after a while. You get transformed to a whole new world if you turn the lights and music off! At 1230, a voice came over the speaker system informing me that the float was complete. I took a shower and the center in-charge offered tea and also let me relax a while in the lobby since I still felt as if I was floating! All in all, a very relaxing, clean environment. I also liked that there was no marketing pitch to make me take up a membership. In terms of suggestions, I would definitely recommend that they stock chamomile tea (it was missing!) and also have a basic moisturizing cream in the room to apply after you are done since the bay area does have a pretty dry climate. Will surely return. More...

Called in on a Thursday evening and was able to make an appointment for a couples float same day. It was our first time in a sensory deprivation tank and the staff were kind and sweet. The vicinity was very clean as well, which is a wonderful sign since you'll be bathing here for an hour! Upon entering you are greeted by a nice receptionist who will ask if you have any questions concerning the float. As first timers we were asked to watch a short video clip explaining exactly what float therapy is and its many benefits. Water and tea were also available at this time. After the video, we both had to sign a waiver. We were then taken to our private room which had a shower, sink, toilet, bench with accommodations(towels, robe, earplugs, q-tips, ect). We were introduced to how the float tank operated(light controls, music control, floating pillow) and then left to relax.Tips:1.) Definitely rinse prior to floating, the tub is FULL of salt water so it self sanitizes, but you still want to limit the amount of gunk you're floating in.2.) USE THE EARPLUGS! omg, I thought I didn't need this and the salt water got stuck in my ear... 4 days later I still had the muffled slushing sound of salt water in my ear that I just could not get out. I don't know why it took so long, maybe because of the increased viscosity of the water due to high amounts of salt? It took about a week to slowly clear out.3.) Cover all cuts minor or major with the OINTMENT provided. My boyfriend scratched his back prior to entering and even that gave him stinging pain because there is a ton of salt in the water. He had to jump out to rinse off and wait for the stinging to subside. Save yourself the pain and keep your session as relaxing as possible by covering any cuts or scratches. Better yet, have individual floats if you want to maximize relaxation time.4.) The tub is on a self timer and you will know when your session is up. We were not told this so I kept getting up to look at the time. Once your therapy session is done the lights will gradually turn on and there will be an announcement in the tub, so snooze away!Overall I had fun and felt relaxed throughout the process, even with the boyfriend screaming from his burning scratch marks lol. I would do single floats next time and possibly pair this therapy with a massage prior to floating to maximize effectiveness. Although I felt relaxed during the float, that relaxed feeling was short lived and the tension I felt in my shoulders were back the next morning, would be a wonderful place to meditate. Thanks for the nice experience, until next time! More...

1st timer floater here. My best friend got us the couples package here (yes, we floated naked) and we decided to give it a try since she got it for my bday! I was initially nervous I'd be alone with my thoughts for an entire HOUR, I mean, that's a long time. Apparently people cry and what not so yes, I was excited but also...what am I getting myself into?!Mentally | This is a great experience for someone who has a busy mind, a lot of noise in their life, and simply wants to slow things down. You spend a lot of time alone with your thoughts in there, I truthfully just fell asleep, but it was good to simply shut off for an hour. Physically | The first 5 minutes consisted of me and my friend giggling because we bumped into each other but also my muscles were spazzing all over the place. My body was worn out from sports so it wasn't used to "floating" and also wasn't used to doing "nothing" haha. I don't feel my muscles were relaxed the way that people made it to seem. If you are in between a float spa or massage for muscle relaxation, I'd go with the massage. The overall experience was top notch. I felt very safe the entire time and loved the rooms! It sort of felt awkward, and I basically fell asleep in a tub so I didn't feel a revelation or anything. But it was pretty cool. From a mental perspective, this is great for busy minds and to slow down. I'd suggest a massage for body relaxation.Great 1st experience nonetheless! More...

My husband and I use the salt room regularly to keep ourselves healthy while surrounded by sniffling/coughing co-workers. I also love to float - I am horrible at meditating but when floating it is the most peaceful place I can be!

This was our first Float and my husband and I decided to do it as a couple in the Float tank. What an amazing experience!! After instruction from the staff, you will undress (yes, float naked) take a quick shower, put in your earplugs and get in the tank. They give you about 6 minutes to get into the tank and then your 60 minute float will begin. For the first 30 minutes we left the ceiling stars and the music on and for the second 30 minutes we turned the lights and music off. When we do it again we will leave the stars on dim (because it was cool to open your eyes and see the light blue twinkling stars) and the music on softly as without it you can hear some of the outside world which could be distracting. Oh, and turn the lights in the room off too because you can see the room lights coming through the tank door which could also be distracting. Once in the tank the salt water will hold your entire body up, so just relax! You will not go under. They do provide a head float just to make you a little more comfortable that your head won't go under when you fall asleep. If you can keep your mind from being "on" you can be transported to a place where your whole being can relax. When the 60 minutes was done we felt relaxed, refreshed and energized! The staff was super friendly and the facility very clean!! We would highly recommend Immortal Digital Life!!! (Side note... before you buy a Groupon check out the company website or call for prices. The price we paid was less than on Groupon More...
