Lauren is AMAZING! We took our 9 month old dog, Tanner, to her for the two week board and train program. Our main issues were caused by his crazy, hyper behavior. He jumped (and he's a 65 lb puppy...so that's especially bad with kids). He stole things that weren't his and led you on a merry (on his part) chase around the house or yard that only ended when you tackled him and wrested it from his jaws. He barked at everything - a shift in the shadow, his reflection in our glass doors, any little sound. He got so riled up and had the worst time calming down. He jumped on the counters and took stuff. He was just ALWAYS INTO SOMETHING.He already knew sit, down, shake, etc., but that does you zero good in the behavior department. Because Tanner still did what Tanner wanted. He stressed me out to no end, and I didn't have the time or energy (two kids and a job) to really work with him on repetition and building the foundations that we needed. After the two week program, we brought home a new dog! Not just in the commands he knew, but it was like she flipped a switch in his brain. He was constantly walking a fine line between normal and crazy and it took next to nothing to push him over the edge. Looking back, he was highly anxious and excitable and just kind of existed in a constant state of adrenaline. Lauren backed him away from the ledge. He's now so far in the "calm" state of mind that it really takes a lot to get him riled up. And we now have the tools we need to help him calm down and find his zen again. She gave him the confidence and the skills to focus and calm himself down. He is a happier, calmer, less stressed dog. And he is a better member of our family. We can all enjoy each other.Of course, he's still a puppy and he still tests our resolve and cops an attitude sometimes. But you can see the difference in the way his brain works. My wife and I took or two Yorkshire Terriers for 2 private lessons for Loose Leash Training. Lauren demonstrated how to use the harnesses properly and worked with both dogs. She also provided explanation of what the dogs were doing and how to ensure we were correcting them properly. Lauren was very helpful with our dogs nutrition and diet issues. She created a nutrition plan that was beneficial to each dogs allergie issues, which has helped to clear them up. Our Cattle dog mix also attended the 3 day leash training class which has helped immensely with her anxiety issues! Abbey, our 6 year old German Shepherd took the three day leash walking course as a reminder for how to walk nicely on the leash. I was pregnant with our second child and was envisioning being dragged around by my 70lb dog while pushing a stroller and chasing toddler. Lauren worked her magic and sent us updates while Abbey was brushing up on her manners. When she came home I immediately noticed her increased attention on me despite being very driven by what she smells and hears on walks. She knew what was expected of her and responded quickly to corrections which she needed less of the more we practiced. Lauren contacted me when she thought another tool- the Halti- might be good for Abbey and took her back to train her with it. It’s been probably 6 months since her training and we go on such nice walks. Walks with the stroller, with the toddler on a scooter, with all kinds of neighborhood distractions and Abbey does great! We've always been so pleased with our experiences (multiple) with Lauren. Our very first boarding was with Ideal Dog and our large Airedale terrier quickly fell in love with Lauren and her pups. Any protective dog-parent who may be nervous about boarding should book with Ideal Dog now! Lauren puts you at ease right away. She is beyond a dog lover, dogs are here passion. She is diligently informed about all-things-dog: be it training, setting boundaries, health topics, or playtime ideas. She has even been invited to special training weekends to be completely up to date on dog behaviors and needs. Nothing you tell her about your dog is too detailed or unheard-of.Lauren also has two dogs of her own who play extremely well with others. Our pup was their shadow during every stay. Her dogs are so well behaved because she has worked with them, guiding and training their temperaments to be calm and submissive. While you are away your dog will NOT be nervous or anxious because Ideal Dog is the place where calm and submissive behaviors are contagious. The pack plays hard and sleeps deep.Lauren is incredibly understanding about any routines your pup may have. She tailored her schedule to accommodate ours, putting me at ease. Lauren makes the effort to be home as much as possible while boarding our dog. Your dog is her priority. 5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ From the moment we met Lauren, we knew that we wanted to work with her! From her basic understanding of our wants and needs for our furry child, she blew us away with a lesson plan and program designed specifically for us and our dog! The board and train program didn’t suit our needs or the timeline in which we needed this training. So, we did a 6 week private lesson course with Lauren and WOW!!! Lauren was (and still is) passionate, thorough, educated, accommodating, caring and a whole list of other traits you’d look for to help train and care for your fur babies. Our dog, Athena, a 14 month old GSD was a well treat trained, well behaved, smart, loving and beautiful girl. She lacked what we weren’t able to give her or teach her. A calm mindset, proper recall, ability to walk properly on a leash and more boundaries. Lauren gave us all of that and more. To me, the foundation of this training was the calm mindset. Athena was ALWAYS on go. She could never stop to calm her brain or relax in her own space, she was always on high alert. This really set the tone for the 6 weeks of training. We harbored more of Athena’s pack drive and honed in on her prey drive in different structured ways to give her a healthy balanced lifestyle! Lauren is a wealth of knowledge and constantly pushing for more. Whatever she didn’t know or wasn’t sure of, she would educate herself and get back to us. She wasn’t only there for training but for general health and wellness questions too. We are on the path to a healthier diet because of her! We sent videos and pictures to Lauren every day on Athena’s progress, different lesson we started working on or just to show her how proud we were of how far she came in such a short time. We are so beyond happy with the training Lauren provided for us and for Athena. We are able to walk, take her places, have company over or just relax at the house without a high alert energetic dog. We are still in regular communication on ways to upgrade our training or challenge Athena’s mind just a little more each day! We have more work to do with Athena on specific tasks and needs which we will continue to do with Lauren! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dog, she is fantastic in every single way. Words cannot describe how amazing Lauren is! We brought Axel to her because he HATED the kennel and was just very anxious overall. Before we brought Axel to Lauren he would escape from his kennel (we ended up putting 6 padlocks on his kennel, and even then he tried to escape) and draw blood in the process. I had also noticed a slow decline in Axels' overall wellbeing and when I mentioned it to Lauren she jumped on it and turns out Axel had giardia (which he tested negative for in the spring) AND hypothyroidism!! She dealt with all the vet visits and made sure to keep us updated throughout the entire process. Lauren is very knowledgeable about dog food and even encouraged us to try a raw diet for our allergy dog. Once we switched it took maybe a few days and her allergies were completely gone (this was our last resort as we had even taken her to a doggie dermatologist)! Axel is now in a much healthier state of mind and putting him in the kennel is a breeze! Having Axel off leash reliable is also a huge plus and one of the reasons were choose Lauren in the first place! More...

Lauren had my dog Champ for three weeks and did an amazing job! I was pretty much at my wit's end and she did a fantastic job. He was constantly marking in the house and not listening to me at all. He had nipped at a few people and would be very unsociable (barking and so on) at every dog or neighbor we would pass when we walked and she has corrected all of these behaviors. Lauren is an excellent dog trainer. She took care of our sweet but permanently excited Golden Retriever during a three week board and train program. He immediately started to respond... He is now a ot more mellow, he no longer tugs on the kids shirts, and he follows commands very well.Mishmosh also had a great time at Ideal Dog when he went back for boarding. My husband and I decided to adopt a new puppy in December 2017 right before Christmas, right before being gone for 5 days over New Year's and about a month before GETTING MARRIED and being out of state/country for 2 weeks. Thank Goodness for Lauren and Ideal Dog. She worked with us on boarding and training to make sure our puppy was cared for and learning the basics of being a good dog. She taught him sit, down, come, place and then set us up as parents with all the tools to not only maintain what he's learned but to keep teaching.
