I offer one-on-one and group personal training sessions at Bodytech in Aspinwall and in clients' homes. My training includes an overall fitness assessment, a general nutrition assessment, and personalized fitness plans to help clients achieve their specific goals.

Q&As

To me, fitness is about connecting with your physical self and growing in ways that are important to you. Your body and goals are your own. My job is to listen to my clients and design safe, effective fitness plans to help them get where they want to be.

Some of my clients want to build muscle. Some want to lose weight. Some want to perform their favorite activities - gardening, hiking, bicycling, running - efficiently and without pain. Some are recovering from surgeries, sprains, and other injuries. No goal is more valid than any other. A personalized exercise plan can help reach them all.

I believe the secret is self-love, compassion, positivity, goal setting, and commitment to a healthy lifestyle even after attaining your goals. It's so important to have a plan, but to be flexible with it and to make sure it doesn't get in the way of your life and relationships. When you deviate from the plan, don't beat yourself up about it; forgive yourself and move forward. Last but not least, understand that your body is yours, and that comparing it to others' can hurt more than help.

I'm passionate about being active, working one-on-one with people, and helping people attain their goals.

I am not a lifelong fitness fanatic.

I went to the gym sporadically. I paid halfhearted attention to my diet. It wasn't until I turned 30, when I started experiencing some chronic health problems, that I made a real commitment to wellness and exercise. Fitness has changed my life over the past three year. With a background as a teacher, it was my natural inclination to become a personal trainer to help fitness do the same for others.

I will never impose unrealistic societal standards or assume to know more about your body than you do. I will provide suggestions that are in line with your goals, but I will never give unsolicited advice. Ultimately, I will help you love what your body can do.
