How long have you been interested in magic?
I have been interested in magic since an early age, but it was only about 30 years ago when one of my sons received some magic as a birthday present that I really caught the bug. My interest was rekindled, and I eventually began performing close up magic on a professional basis, which I have done for 22 years.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
The show really depends on the type of event. I have performed close up magic at corporate dinners, product launches, wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries and even after-shoot lunches.
At a function where there is a drinks reception, followed by a dinner, such as a corporate event or a wedding, I would initially perform strolling magic during the reception, entertaining guests standing in small groups. The beauty of this type of magic is that it is performed in the hands, without the need for a table, and spectators are actually involved in the magic. After guests have been seated for dinner, or the wedding breakfast, I would visit each table performing table magic between courses.
At a private party, the type of close up magic could be either strolling , table or a combination of the two, depending on the format of the event.
Your guests will be stunned by my sleight of hand magic, but also to be entertained and have some fun in the process.

What do you love most about your job?
I derive a huge amount of pleasure from performing close up magic. The look of wonder and joy on someone's face, together with verbal outbursts of delight at what they have seen, ( or not seen! ) is addictive.
Each function is different, and I enjoy meeting the guests and trying to take them into a world of mystery for a few minutes, performing magic effects that defy explanation.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The realisation that people will employ close up magicians in a variety of situations and venues. The thought that I could have a job that I love, entertain people, and get paid for enjoying myself!
