A nice guy BUT; specifically:
No site survey, which then produced lots of technical errors costing time and money.
He was happy to drop the height of the newly plastered existing ceilings 150mm to accommodate enough standing hight in the loft we planned developing.
Our ridge hight is lower than surrounding properties. Lifting the ridge would have been better which would have shown up on a 3D site survey!
He wanted to remove the gas, electric and water meters to locate the position of a staircase!
He went on holiday in the middle of the project without telling us.
He made no design suggestions worth keeping.
Technically, he was not sure of the minimal distance between our corner plot building and perimeter from which to build.
He did not understand Permitted Development regulations.
Wanted to charge hundreds of pounds for DWG files we’d already paid for in fees. We only wanted the plans so another architect could work on them because he couldn’t.
