What makes a great website?
Ease of use is key - it doesn't matter what the content or how pretty the site is if potential customers find it difficult to get to the information they need quickly the site will not deliver for the client. Speed of hosting, a secure layer and responsive design are all a must if you want Google to give you exposure in organic searches. Websites can be very cool, but if not used as part of a wider marketing strategy which includes social media management and, if the industry requires it, some good old fashioned print they will not fulfil their potential!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What do you hope to achieve with the project? How do you want potential customers to contact you? Are you selling online? Have you got a brand identity? What is your budget? When do you need it completing? Tea or coffee? Do you like Bourbon biscuits?
What do you love most about your job?
I love to solve problems using PHP including fixing existing sites (usually Wordpress) that have been neglected. Engaging customers for our clients on social media is cool - especially when they see conversions. Working remotely is awesome (and being able to work in coffee shops) but I do like to meet clients at least once when we begin a project together. The freedom to make my own hours and spending time with Sprocket, the studio dog... he's so wise...
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've worked in the world of design and print (and later, web and social media) since 1994 and have always fancied myself as an entrepreneur but the security of employment always won out... until my wife gave birth to my son which changed everything. I wanted to spend more time watching him grow up so I decided to become self employed - that was in 2007 and I've worked for myself ever since!

We are a small business and have built our reputation on quality of work and service, referrals and good business relationships with our clients. We are experts in print, web, Wordpress and social media marketing and will do our absolute best to complete projects on time and on budget. We are also very friendly and make a damn fine cup of tea.
