The food is cheap and cheerful, staff were lovely and helpful. No problems with the food at all, although the baskets they serve the food in are hugely annoying ! The downside is we found the pub to be pretty dirty all round. The children’s play area was filthy as were most of the carpets/window sills/toilets/seats. A good thorough clean would go along way ! Had a problem with a tough steak returned and no questions asked only an apology for poor quality of the meat. Re cooked fresh meal and more than satisfactory very enjoyable meal.

Sunday night is my most favourite night of the week. Quiz night is the best. It’s a great time for a night out with family in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. It doesn’t matter if you lose or not it’s the taking part that counts. what more could you want good food a great pint and spending time with friends and family while testing your knowledge and if you manage to come first second or third you even win a prize. Been here a few times now since it became a Generous George and enjoyed it everytime. Food always a good standard and out quickly. Bets part is it's a kid friendly pub that still has a traditional pub feel to it. I can bring the little one and enjoy a pint without feeling like I am drinking it in the middle of a ball pit. We called into Generous George Tuesday evening at 7.15pm. There was just my husband and I. There were not many people there at that time and so we ordered our meals and drinks. both meals were lovely, nicely presented and hot and tasty. We finished off with ice cream which was gorgeous! we would like to thank very much the staff who served us -Lucy and Amy - very polite, friendly servers. They also checked that our meal was ok So well done!! l have to say that we have had a meal here on about 6 occasions and each time it has been lovely. We just wish the menu would change now and again - maybe some specials !! More...

Just popped in and had the new ‘Double Based’ Pizza and it was amazing, up there with one of the best pizzas I’ve had - compliments to Chloe who apparently just made this for the first time (it was spot on), My wife had the same but is vegetarian but they made her a special ‘custom’ version which she said was also great!
