Hungaro Explorer

I came to Oahu solo, keen to do some mountainous/ridge hikes with an experienced hiker and found Hungaro Explorer via Google. The website looked professional and I liked how Nandor offers custom hikes - as that’s what I chose to utilise.Nandor was always prompt with his electronic replies, was accomodating to my hike requests, was able to pick me up from Waikiki, and was able to cater to my skill level. I chose to do 2 hikes with him and after my first hike, he assessed my capabilities as being greater than I expected, so I found myself completing an advanced climb that I would have been too scared to try alone.Nandor is knowledgeable and friendly. He will tell you about the plants and attractions you see in your hikes and recommend the best vantage points for photographs - including taking and sending you some professional photos for free. He can recommend other hikes for you to try alone too. He’s a climber as well, so if you’re a climber, like me, you’ll have some great conversations about that topic. And as a bonus to make you feel ultra safe, he volunteers in search and rescue and you can tell from conversations that he really knows his stuff.I highly recommend him and will certainly contact him again for more hikes the next time I am in Oahu. An amazing adventure I will never forget. Nandor is a wonderful, confident guide and we had a very energetic and challenging hike, with waterfalls, ropes and lots of climbing. What an amazing experience! My wife an I had an incredible day with Nandor, We chose the 3 waterfalls hike and were no disappointed. Walking through the beautiful valley then up the waterfalls and along the crater ridge was truly a unique experience. it has been our 3rd trip to Hawaii and has been hands down the best activity we have done on the island. Nandor is beyond exceptional! He completely exceeded our expectations in a tour guide! He is truly a genuine person that is EXTREMELY Informative on not only the trails but the native habitat. Me and my husband wanted our Hawaiian wedding to be an ordinary memory - we wanted the wonderful nature of Hawaii to appear as much as possible. We knew that Nándor would be our greatest help. Kedves Barátunk, Nándi! Köszönjük Neked életünk legvidámabb, legkalandosabb jurassic parkos túráját és az extrém fotózást. Köszönjük azt, hogy velünk töltötted azt a napot, kedves, humoros voltál. úgy alakítottad, hogy az igényeinket maximálisan kielégítsd. Volt benne nehéz túra, könnyű óceánparti séta a secret beachen, egy két olyan kilátó ahonnan százszor szebb volt a kilátás és nem lógott bele egy turista sem a képekbe mivel egy sem volt ott , mert maga az odajutás is csak olyan túravezetővel lehetséges, aki ismeri a sziget minden rejtett kincsét! Láthattuk az óceán ezernyi kék színét olyan magasságokból, ami keveseknek adatik meg. Minden helyen volt egy vicces vagy érdekes sztorid vagy épp történelmi, amitől még érdekesebb és teljesebb volt a napunk és így jobban kötődünk ezután a helyekhez ahol jártunk. De ami a legjobb volt ,hogy a nap úgy telt Veled mintha már évek óta barátok lettünk volna és a nap végén még elvittél minket egy félig meddig egy turisták által még annyira nem felfedezett beach-re, ahol próbáltál minket tanítani ,hogyan kell meglovagolni a hullámokat a sekélyebb vízben, de sajnos az idő rövidsége vagy a mi bénaságunk miatt nem sikerült megtanulni  Még egyszer köszönünk Neked mindent és reméljük, hogy sok közös kalandban lesz még részünk!!! Top of Stairway to Heaven has been on our bucket list for a long time. There is no way we could have done it without Nandor. He took care of all the details so we could enjoy the incredible beauty this hike has to offer. I was never a person into sports and an avid hiker. For me, it is not just about getting to the peak, it is about enjoying the environment. It is why I always struggle going hiking with people with a lot of experience..... Choosing Nandor as our guide was one of the best decisions we could made when we hike Upper Yosemite Falls. It was a really long hike with a big elevation and the sun was hitting our head for many hours. I got dehydrated and I wanted to give up. However, Nandor was always supporting me along the way and his great mountaineering skills help me going through and finish the hike. I just arrived back home after spending more than 2 weeks visiting some islands in Hawaii. O’ahu was one of my favorite ones. Thanks to Hungaro Explorer I was able to have my first contact with the island, being at the end the most beautiful/excited experiences I had during the whole trip. In about 6 hours hiking we were able to surmount more than 2 summits, climb several steeped hills, pass by incredible lookouts in the top of green cliffs over the Pacific Ocean, climb 2 waterfalls and finally, to make even better, wash out our muddy clothes under a huge waterfall.
Nandor, thanks a lot for your guidance in this incredible experience, to make everything easier during the hike and for making those incredible pictures and video. I will recommend it to all my friends.

We had a fantastic day in Oahu with Nandor. It was amazing to see, how much hidden ways and sightseeing points he knows. We were hiking in places, where we were completely alone, in the mountains, and also in secret beaches. We are not a professional hikers, so it was a positive suprise, that we found ways, which fits perfectly to our needs. We had our lunch at a local food truck, which I would never choose (it doesn't looked like a good place), but it was delicious and very authentic.
We can recomend Nandor to everyone, who is looking for places in Oahu, which are not so well known, but therefore really beautiful. More...

I had a beautiful adventure, I have seen some amazing landscapes from the jungle to green mountains with great views. Nandor was taking care of everything, told me a lot about Hawaii, local palnts and trees. Was an amazing experience!

Nandor is an exceptional guide and his tour services will offer you something different than the mainstream tours. I searched for weeks to find someone who would take me around O’ahu as I was there on a work trip with very limited time. I love hiking and being in contact with nature and my dream of exploring Hawaii, discover amazing landscapes and having some rest in one of the beautiful waterfalls finally came true. This fantastic experience was even better thanks to Nandor. Nandor from Hungaro Explorer is an amazing guide! He'll show you the best of Oahu, away from the tourist crowds and is an all round genuinely nice guy! Our family of four, with two teenage boys, loves hiking in our home in the Pacific Northwest, but we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on our three waterfall hike with Hungaro Explorer. Nandor is uniquely talented for the work he has chosen, and he led our group with knowledge, confidence, grace, and humor. The hike was quite difficult, but we felt fully supported, and completely satisfied by the end of the day. Let's just say that I am not an avid hiker!For me it is not just to get to the peak, it is about enjoying the environment! Choosing Hungaro Explorer as our guide was one of the best decision when hiked to three waterfalls here in Oahu. The guide, Nandor had all kind of hiking accessories to help us stay on the trail safe. We got information about local planta and trees, Hawaiian names of the surrounding mountains. We had a great time enjoying those waterfalls!
