As a foreign drone pilot (Australian) with Australian and American drone qualifications, I needed to obtain my PfCO so I can work commercially on various projects I am involved with in the UK and, French Polynesia; where the DGAC only recognise EU certifications for any commercial drone work. Matt, Mike and Helen at Hummingbird UAV were outstanding to work with in obtaining my PfCO and answered all of my questions regarding UK regulations pertaining to RPAS. After consulting with Mike to ensure my Operations Manual was written to the required CAA standard, I submitted it to the CAA and received approval in only 7 working days! That must be a record. When I first started training with this company I considered myself to be up to speed with the world of the UAV having already been in the hobby building my own quadcopters and flying for 3-4 years, but how wrong was I. Early in the beginning of my journey into becoming a qualified UAV pilot and following some poor information from third parties. Following some discussion I was advised by a friend to call Matthew at Hummingbird for some advice on courses and drone choice.From a this call a meeting was planned at hummingbird for some friendly advice, from this meeting the PFCO theory was scheduled - Matt, Helen and Lewis were always on hand to assist and lend professional assistance and advice throughout. Even planning the flight assessment, which deemed difficult due to my work commitments which led to multiple diary changes with assessments being cancelled, it was never an issue and another assessment was planned to fit my for every changing diary!Hummingbird are a must for anyone wishing to gain their PFCO, friendly and professional training throughout along with an A class customer service!Many thanks Matt and Helen!Clinton More...

If you're looking to get your PFCO with Hummingbird UAV, I'd highly recommend them. Being new to the aviation industry they were very knowledgeable and give you tips along the way for whichever industry you are in. There is certainly a bit of work to be done outside of the course, but they are really responsive and supportive through the process. Bit of advice, try and get your flight assessment in the summer, the British weather is not reliable! Having said that, Matt was really flexible with re-arranging!Highly recommended! More...

From start to finish Hummingbird UAV have made the experience of completing my PfCO an enjoyable one, Sitting in a room with other students waiting for the instructor sent shivers through my body as this reminded me of my school days, but this was very soon dispersed when Lewis started the course, everyone has different learning speeds and abilities to which Lewis catered for, Matt and the team based in Doncaster were equally as helpful and supportive through the whole course and nothing was ever to much trouble.

I am a ppl pilot so did the one day classroom course, the instructor Lewis was very knowledgable and informative, I found the course easy to understand in the format that Lewis delivered it in. Venue was excellent! Very welcoming. Flight assessment with Matt the examiner was conducted brilliantly, was put at ease straight away as I was very nervous. The Hummingbird team recently provided our company with excellent theoretical knowledge and practical preparation for our PfCO assessments.
