HR is one of the trickiest areas to get right when running a small business, especially as most owner operators skill set lies in selling, marketing or product development. However, getting this side right leads to more time for you to do what you do best and since employing Maria's services we have made much better recruitment and contract decisions and protected ourselves from DIY flimsy policies, allowing me to grow the business. My name is Anita Puttick and I’m a partner at Putty Cakes. A specialist sugar craft retail shop incorporating a classroom and a bespoke celebration cake designer.
I would personally like to thank Maria for firstly, helping us to review and amend a Contract of Employment originally provided to us by FSB (National Federation of Self Employed & Small Businesses Ltd).
Then Maria supported us and gave us advice on a staff hours reduction project and then finally helped us with accepting a resignation letter from a member of staff.

At HRoverload, we have a particular passion for helping businesses enable employees to reach company objectives by putting the required measures in place for future growth. We’re also Employee Relations experts, so if and when things go slightly awry, i'm your lady!

I established HROverload in May 2016. With over 10 years’ experience in delivering HR services in both large and small businesses, Maria has worked with a number of big household names, including Age UK, JML, FOOTLOCKER, Deckers Brands (UGG) and the RSPCA.

All too often the HR function is one of defence against risk and excludes the intention to create people magic… we help put that right by connecting the dots between where you are now and where you want to be in terms of your staff.

When you first meet our team, we’ll take the time and make the effort to learn about your company, and about you as a management team. We are interested in regulation and compliance, but we are interested in your success first and foremost…and that will be obvious in the first half hour.

Together we’ll explore your company ambition and shorter term goals. We’ll look at how your people fit in with those plans and reach clarity about where performance is currently for all. We’ll help you identify where potential lies; within the company structure, systems and most of all the people. Compliance is about ensuring minimum performance is achieved, but the HR support we will be offering to you on an ongoing basis is about maximising potential.

Once we know the goals, and the actions to take, we’ll put together a support programme with regular meet ups and provide you with the tools to ensure that things actually move forward. You’ll be able to see and engage with our expertise and it will quickly become apparent that we care about your success, not just your paperwork.

As our working relationship develops we’ll go from getting back on track to getting ahead of the competition, and you’ll learn a lot about what makes people tick and drives them towards high performance.
