We stayed in apartments 7/8 and they were spacious, homely and comfortable. Lovely large fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils you could ever need. Comfortable beds and a huge living space, perfect for 12 person Bakeoff viewings after a long day of mapping. Location was perfect, Sedbergh is quaint with a rustic charm, yet has plenty of facilities such as a Spar within walking distance. I would definitely recommend others to stay in the Howgills apartments! More...

I stayed here recently as part of a field course, apartment 7/8 is really spacious and open, with good kitchen facilities and excellent WiFi for a rural area (we had no problem streaming the Bake Off)! The beds were fine, particularly liked the sofa under the window... We ate at Howgills Bunkbarn, the food was amazing all round, the staff were just as amazing too, making it worth the walk in the rain. Despite the weather (which was pretty miserable for fieldwork), we manged to keep relatively dry by turning the radiators to maximum and laying our wet things all over the room. Nice short walk to the spar for bits and pieces, but everything we needed was there, and the cleaning staff even left a treat for when we came in from the soggy outdoors. For fieldwork accomodation, this place really was a luxury. A massive thanks to the whole team. More...

The flat was spacious, the beds comfortable and everything super clean on arrival. It’s easy to find. A problem with an external agency, over booking, was dealt with, over the phone, easily and with the minimum of fuss. It was good to speak to a voice. The position of the flat a matter of yards from the village centre is perfect. It’s close to pubs, grub (sitdown and takeaway), fresh veg. and butcher’s shops, and, importantly, bookshops. The village is a centre for wonderful walking along rivers and over Fells. As a Quaker the area is steeped in the history of Quakerism. I was fortunate to have a week of cracking weather, but as Wainwright said ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!’ But if it does rain the flat has ample space for ‘drying out’. I’m planning next year’s stay already. More...

What a fantastic place, very family friendly. Easily big enough to accommodate 30+ of us. Only problem will be finding anything anywhere nearly as good as this, so it looks like we will have to come back oh what a shame 10/10

Stayed just for the one night with wife and 2 children. Really cosy apartment behind the main street in Sedbergh. Has it's own designated parking spot and nice views of the surrounding hills. Accommodation is well presented and has everything you'd want, with the possible exception of a full length mirror. Beds comfy though and for a 2 bed apartment you can't quibble at the price really.||||A few things to note, TV reception is terrible (A Sebergh thing, not the buildings fault) and the internet is very slow. This may or may not be an issue for you. Also the apartments were all up stairs and I didn't spot a lift, so bear that in mind. More...

Just a short review to let others know how fantastic this accommodation is. Dad and I were walking the Dales Way. This was one of our overnight stays. I was a tad concerned that we’d have to try and find breakfast stuff and coffee etc - but no, it was all there when we arrived. We didn’t need to bring anything. We were so impressed with the standard of the accommodation too. Lovely and clean, well positioned in the centre of Sedbergh and a brilliant central location for the Dales, Lakes and The Howgills. While I had some difficulty in actually finding the premises on a dark, wet Friday evening, despite much help from Sedbergh residents, I quickly thawed-out in this wonderfully cozy 2-bed facility in Sedbergh. Owners and staff most helpful with warm teas, coffee options provided. The rooms are upstairs and my double bed en suite provided a teriffic 2-nights sleep. A winter wonderland morning view over Sedbergh Village greeted me on my first day from the living area back wondow downstairs. The adjacent kitchenette is well-equipped. Its a 10-minute walk to Spar for supplies and a couple of minutes to pubs and restaurants on the Main Street. Will definitely revisit. Highly recommended. More...

We stayed in apartment 9 in early March. It's a lovely well equipped apartment. Has everything you need to cook a full meal, all pots, pans, utensils etc. There's a fridge freezer and tea towels too! Upstairs there is a wet room/toilet and two bedrooms that could each sleep a family, two sets of bunk beds with one of them having a double bed underneath in each bedroom. All bedding and towels were fresh and spotlessly clean. It's a short walk through to the main village street where there are a few shops and cafes serving lovely home cooked food and there are a couple of pubs, the Red Lion and The Dalesman. We preferred the Dalesman, it was more welcoming and the home cooked food was delicious. The apartments have plenty of parking and are in a quiet residential area. More...

We stayed as a large party in apartments 7/8 and 12. Both apartments offered everything we needed including comfy beds, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space to seat a large party. The apartments really did have everything we needed and were well taken care of.||||Communication was great before we arrived and Nigel and the team went out of their way to provide us with a BBQ and give us recommendations of where to go. They were very understanding of our needs and on hand if we needed anything. ||||We had never visited Sedbergh before and were really impressed with the local pubs and activities. We were not too far from Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale which we all really enjoyed. ||||While I am writing on behalf of a large party, none of us would have any doubts in staying here again or recommending Howgills Apartments to anyone that is visiting the area.||||Thank you to Nigel, Liz and Dawn and all at Howgills Apartments for an excellent stay. We used this as a base for an extended family holiday. There were 14 of us in total across 3 apartments. The whole experience was smooth from the start and we received prompt replies to any queries we had. A great location to explore svedberg from. Loads of great walks, runs and streams to play in nearby, and a great pub nearby too. The apartment was well kitted out for cooking. Only grumble would be the shower was too hot and the laminated 'temporary' fix instructions still didn't make it cool enough to use. More...
