We used HCS for a survey on a property we wanted to buy. Fast and professional but personal service with a comprehensive 'pack' we could read (and understand) and then pass to our solicitor. Would certainly use again.

Surveyor has broken my mum's window during a 3 hour full building survey yesterday. She was also presented with a second surveyor on her doorstep with no notice (in a covid pandemic). Phoned to complain and to get the window rectified. The woman that answered the phone denied that he did it and claimed it was already like it (which, obviously it wasn't). My mum got a window specialist to come as being called basically a liar by HCS did not fill her with confidence that they would fix the window that night. A window specialist managed to manipulate the window to close (now permanently closed until she can get it repaired). The woman spoken to at HCS took her number to get someone senior to call her back but instead sent round the surveyor to her doorstep 4 hours later to argue that it is a coincidence that the window failed on the day he happened to be there. He then admitted he was aware that he had left it like that but failed to mention it to her before leaving the property. Very unprofessional, intrusive and rude. When she phoned the office again to complain, the office hung up on her when she asked for the name of the surveyors so the details can be passed to her solicitor for recompense for repairs all as a result of HCS coming to her property yesterday. I used them in 2019 for a party wall dispute...I wouldn't use them again the builders caused a lot of damage to my property in billericay and when I informed Howes they just didn't want to know the person who was dealing with left the company and everyone else denied all knowledge of me they are probably ok if you have a 3 million pound house on Hutton mount
