What kind of accounting services do you provide?
The full package. We can provide everything from the initial book-keeping stage to management accounts and full statutory accounts as well as tax returns, tax planning and business advice.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
One thing I have learned in my 10 years in practice is that the relationship is everything. I have seen a great number of clients come to my other firms having been with their accountants for a number of years without ever really getting anything more for their money than just the year-end compliance. A great accountant should be in touch with the business and be on hand to provide advice proactively rather than reactively. Sometimes it is this that makes the difference between a good accountant and a great accountant.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people, hearing about their business and being able to help them. It really surprised me when I first started as an accountant quite how important it is to be able to interact with people and build relationships. It is a lot more sociable than I initially thought.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've worked in a few firms over the years and have come across things that I have liked and other things I haven't in each. I wanted to own my own business to do things my way and so that I could directly earn the money from the work I'm doing for people rather than seeing it go elsewhere! It is so rewarding to know that when I do a good job I will get paid for it personally and if the client feels they have received a good service it is all down to my hard work.
Why should our clients choose you?
As I said above, we are a small firm of accountants with the level of qualifications of a much larger firm. I therefore believe that we can provide the level of service and that personal touch generally provided by smaller firms but with the expertise of larger firms.
As a newly created firm we are also in the same position as some of our clients in that we are going through a lot of the same situations which I think can only help.
