I'm qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (the only hypnotherapy qualification approved by the British Psychological Society) and Advanced Structured Hypnotherapy, the techniques for which are highly specialised and very effective.

Paul was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable during my sessions. He helped me cope with anxiety and stress during my exam periods. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is considering alternative methods of therapy. More...

I attended my first hypnotherapy session with Paul in April 2018. I wanted to address issues of being over weight. I was well over 12 stone and heading for size 18. I found Paul excellent. He helped me, through hypnotherapy, have a different relationship with food, which was not connected to my emotions. I am not on a diet but eat only, when I am hungry and stop eating when i am full. I now exercise control on portions and make improved choices of foods that I eat. I still treat myself to the foods I love but do not have the associated guilt that I previously had, which made me eat more.I have lost almost 2 stone and size 14. This is the best thing have ever done after years and years of dieting. I highly recommend Paul. More...

My 14 year old son had a severe phobia of needles following a traumatic time at the hospital. Although my son was very doubtful that hypnotherapy would help we turned to Paul. He was very courteous, gentle and worked very professionally. After 3 sessions the blood test was no longer a major issue. Thank you so much for your help, Paul! More...

I contacted Paul at Horizon Hypnotherapy by email last week as I was suffering from severe Anxiety prior to my driving test. Paul offered me an initial consultation and recommended 3 one hour Hypnotherapy sessions which I attended over 2 days last week. Although I was initially unsure of the benefits of Hypnotherapy they were immediate. I felt more relaxed, I slept better and I was able to use the self hypnosis techniques to calm my nerves and anxiety before my driving test.I passed my driving test 1st time this morning!!! More...

I visited Paul at Horizon Hypnotherapy over the space of three weeks to help with anxiety, worry and raised blood pressure. Paul was friendly, listened to my concerns and put me at ease. The hypnotherapy technique worked well and has made a major difference to my life. Now I rarely get anxious or worry and am a lot calmer. My BP has also levelled off and I'm free of medication. Thanks Paul - you have really made a big difference to my life. More...

Q&As

I love the difference hypnotherapy can make to people's lives. It really is life changing for some, and it's so rewarding to see the transformation that clients make from when they first come to see me to when their therapy is over. I couldn't get the same job satisfaction doing anything else.

I decided to become a hypnotherapist after developing an interest in the subject and finding out just how powerful and liberating it could be. For me, there is nothing as rewarding as seeing a client free themselves from their problems, fulfil their potential and become the person they were meant to be. Rather than just throwing drugs at a problem or condition, hypnotherapy allows people to use their own natural inner resources to bring about beneficial change.

I've been a practising hypnotherapist for sixteen years and have treated well over ten thousand clients, from age seven to ninety. During that time, I have gained extensive experience in treating a wide variety of conditions many times over. This means that, not only do I have considerable knowledge of how to treat these issues, but also an understanding of which particular approach would be beneficial for each individual client's specific needs.

I also realise that many clients, when they first come to see me, are a bit fragile or anxious, so I always treat clients with sensitivity, empathy and kindness. I take the welfare of every client very seriously, no matter who they are, where they're from or what their issues are.

COVID-19: We are open. All hypnotherapy sessions adhere to government guidelines, with no physical contact, two metre social distancing and all surfaces are disinfected between clients.

Services

The following list is representative of the most common conditions that we treat, but it's not exhaustive, so if you have a condition that you don't see listed, just ask.

Often several problems can be addressed during sessions. For example, if a client primarily wants to lose weight, but they also suffer with stress, anxiety and low self-confidence, and their way of coping is to eat, these problems can all be addressed as part of their therapy.
