Service was excellent. The staff worked together better than just about any place I have been too. The restaurant was clean and well maintained, not easy for a busy Beach town restaurant. We had the Chesapeake baked oysters - off the hook fantastic, the cioppino and the shrimp and grits. The cioppino was way beyond fish stew like you get at many places. The ingredients all maintained their individual flavor yet were blended in the perfectly seasoned broth.Shrimp and grits is a dish that is prepared five hundred different ways. The chef at Hooked uses chorizo instead of andoulle and they grits were on the creamier side. The portion size was just right- satisfying but not so much that it was wasted or leftovers taken home in a bag.Beer was reasonably priced however the wine came in what looked like a 10oz pour for $13. Parking out back.We were seated next to a local couple that come once a week. When you have locals as regulars it means that you are doing the right things. More...

We stopped here recently and we like to pride ourselves on being foodies, so I feel confident recommending this establishment to anyone. This place hit all the marks. The flavors of every dish were each perfectly seasoned. Great ambiance. The shrimp dish my husband had was said to be better than the one he had in New Orleans, and he can be extremely discerning. Staff was quick but did not ever hover so we felt well taken care of but also could hold a conversation without feeling rushed or interrupted. As mentioned, highly recommend. We’ve been to Ocean City several times and weren’t lucky enough to find this gem. Now that we did we will definitely be back and telling all our friends. More...

We were looking for someplace to get a nice dinner on our way from Norfolk back to Boston and found Hooked online. The reviews online were good so we decided to give Hooked a try. Being off-season there was no crowd, so we got seated immediately. Our server was really good, checking on us often enough without being intrusive. My wife had the crab and corn chowder which was really good. I had 6 local oysters as my appetizer - they were fresh and tasty. The cocktail sauce, with a healthy dollop of horseradish alongside, which was house made, not some bottled product. My wife had the crab cake entree which was excellent - lots of crab and great flavor. I had the cioppino, which I have often at seafood restaurants - this was amongst the best I've had. It was replete with shrimp, mussels, clams, chorizo, fish, and 2 large scallops. The broth was just spicy enough without being overpowering, and the seafood was all prepared really well. The two scallops were outstanding, delicate and tender and flavorful. I can't count how many bad scallops I've had at restaurants - these were fantastic. We drive the Boston/Norfolk trip often, I think Hooked is going to be a frequent dinner stop (at least outside peak tourist season). Everything we ordered from the drinks to dessert and everything in between was amazing. The roasted beets with shosito peppers and goat cheese was unique, had just a little kick to make it interesting. The lobster carbonara, to die for! I can't finish a pasta dish by myself but it was sooo good I finished it by myself. Loved that it had itty bitty pieces of pork belly instead of just bacon. Hubby's crispy skin salmon was pretty amazing as well. Coconut cream pie, gotta have! And the staff was attentive and friendly, what more can you ask for. More...

As always, hooked absolutely never disappoints. My boyfriend and I loved the scallops and grits so much that we refused to get two separate dishes as our entrees. We shared some of the most refreshing and delicious raw oysters I have ever had. Typically I'm not a huge oyster fan and I'll have maybe one if I'm feeling it. The oysters at Hooked were so fresh I wanted to eat the entire half dozen we ordered by myself! We also shared the fresh burrata and heirloom tomato salad - you can most definitely tell the farm to table difference in this and it's clear that hooked takes pride in that. Definitely recommend this option if you're here in season. The mussels are so clearly fresh as well - have you ever gotten an orange colored mussel at other restaurants? Yes, and that's unnatural. The mussels at Hooked are creamy and white and the broth is to die for. The specials they have going on during the off season make this place a fantastic option any time of year. 10/10 would recommend More...

We decided to try this place for seafood, and went on a Friday evening.  They had a Friday special 3 for $30 (Starter- fish tacos, Main - Ciappino (shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops, fin fish, fennel, chorizo) and Dessert - Chocolate Ganache) which was absolutely delicious! !  We also had the lobster roll which was slightly spicy but still great.  We had the cheeseburgers for one of our land lover which were good!!  The service was also very good, and the ambience for a small place was perfect! I have been here multiple times and am usually very pleased with the food. The only slightly negative experience happened unfortunately on mine and my husbands anniversary. We dined upstairs after having a drink at the downstairs bar which was very nice. After being seated upstairs the dinner menu was presented. We ordered entrees and drinks. Our meal came and I could not relax and enjoy this 25$+ entree because of the music. Ac/Dc, and other hard rock. Don't get me wrong, there is a time and a place for that music, but at an expensive dinner it's not the place. It was hard to have a conversation. I just feel that attention should be given to details and it most certainly wasn't. I would return for a lunch or a happy hour, but not for a dinner. More...

A nice mix of seafood and southern cuisine made for a delicious and filling meal that I'd recommend to anyone. I've been visiting OC since I was a child and they have one of the best crab dip appetizers around. The seared scallops we're spot on as well! Visit once and you'll be Hooked! More...

This restaurant has the best crab cakes ever. I'm usually not a big fan of crab cakes due to small sized entree. But, I decided to order crab cakes this time because our table's waiter mentioned they have the best crab cakes in the area and this menu was beyond my expectations! I have never had this fullness in my stomach before after eating crab cakes. Highly recommended for the crab cakes and calamari (very fresh). More...

This was our first meal when we arrived in OC. I ordered the crabcake sandwich. It was a huge meaty crabcake seasoned well. It was a little too salty but the lettuce, tomato and bun balanced it out. I got the crab bisque and it was very salty so I would not recommend that. My friend got the shrimp & grits with chorizo. That dish was very flavorful, tasted just like an authentic Southern dish.Overall it was very good service. The waitress was attentive with us. It's a nice lunch spot. More...

Shortly after arriving in Ocean City, my friends and I felt that it was time for dinner. We saw on social that it was Taco Knight on Thursday's from 5-8pm  at Hooked. On those nights, they offered discounts on tacos, burgers, and margaritas. Hooked is a two-story upscale restaurant that serves New American fare. They share a parking lot with other local businesses and it is located behind the restaurant. According to my friends, they were not huge fans of the classic Margarita mainly because of its sourness. I enjoyed the Burnt Old Fashioned, which consisted of a blend of 1776 rye whiskey, fee bros orange bitters, luxardo cherry, grilled orange, and simple syrup. It lived up to my expectation. For appetizers, we shared Calamari and Whole Jerk Roasted Wings, both of which I'd recommend. The Calamari consisted of lightly battered calamari deep fried and topped with spicy mayo, micro arugula, and lemon. It's a personal preference but I would have liked the spicy mayo on the side. The Whole Jerk Roasted Wings consisted of marinated chicken wings served with cider hot sauce and lime. I felt like the wings tasted good with or without the sauce. The tacos came with either buttermilk battered rockfish or shrimp, cabbage, pico de gallo, spicy mayo, and pickle red onion. They were alright, nothing special or out of the ordinary.I was debating between Crab Cakes and Crispy Atlantic Salmon but went with the latter. It was served over a bed of citrus fennel salad and arugula and finished with a lemon aioli. I loved how crispy the edges were and how tender the meat was. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the salad that came with it.The other guests enjoyed their Burger, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Oyster Po Boy. The Burger consisted of beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce in between a toasted bun. It was served with crispy french fries. The Lobster Mac and Cheese consisted of large pieces of lobster cooked with cavatappi, edamame, pork belly, morneau, and brown butter bread crumbs. The dish was tasty. The Oyster Po Boy consisted of fried oysters, house slaw and remoulade on a New England style roll. The dessert menu looked good but we failed to leave room in our stomachs to savor them. At the end of the meal, the server was nice enough to split the price of each appetizer into four separate tabs. More...

I absolutely enjoyed Hooked! My friends and I arrived in OCMD for a weekend getaway, and looked for a place to dine Friday night. Based off of reviews, we decided to dine at Hooked. Great decision! This particular Friday night was 3 courses for $30. We were thinking that the portions would be small... to the contrary. We each ordered a different appetizer: crab dip, calamari and boom boom shrimp. Delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my entree, Salmon, and my sister had the crab cakes which I tasted, goooodd! With the bread, appetizer and entree, we had to box dessert. Unfortunately, they ran out of the coconut pie I ordered. Our server was very friendly! We will definitely visit again! More...
