After completing his degrees in Photography and Microbiology at S.I.U., Thom returned to Chicago, worked in Advertising and raced Sailboats on the Great Lakes. Eventually moving to Seattle establishing himself there, while still shooting Nationally.

We hired Thom to shoot our wedding near the end of August. Not only was he professional in his demeanor, but he was also fun and kept things relaxed. He offered a great balance between posing us for beautiful pictures and letting us be our natural selves. Both the posed and more candid shots turned out wonderful! He was also very accommodating and patient when taking shots with our adorable yet uncooperative young daughters. Thom helped me by taking very professional photos of my house as I plan to sell it but have not decided on a reality firm. He spent nearly 4 hours shooting with me at his side to monitor each shot on his linked MAC power book. We did a fabulous job. I have 28 very very good photos chosen from over 100-200? shots. Thom spent additional time tweeking the photos in his studio. I have been on professional magazine advertisement shoots in the past, this experience surpassed all I have seen. Coincidentally I met Thom Hooke when I found that he had a boat on Lake Geneva and I had guests that wanted a lake tour and he was available. What are their Goals? What are they hoping to achieve. How do they anticipate the project happening and what do they expect to receive, film, digital, rights?
What do you love most about your job?
The people, the variety of projects, It's the best job ever.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The first time I saw an 11x14 inch original Transparency of lipstick shot by a Commercial Photographer for Max Factor. It was unbelievable in depth of color crispness of detail.
