First visit to the Shannon Hook & Ladder for breakfast with my husband on Saturday morning at 11.30am.They said they had no mushrooms and when we received our breakfast they were plated up wrong. Hook & Ladder is a great little eatery with both a wonderful lunch and breakfast menu (my party’s visit straddled both, and we took full advantage) and a relaxing, hospitable ambience. The Hook and Ladder is a favourite of mine, whether I'm meeting the girls for a coffee or taking the children for a treat or even meeting the hubby for a date, it ticks all the boxes. I came in to have a bite to eat today at my local Hook & Ladder in Castletroy to fuel up for a VVIP reception I have been invited to this evening. I ordered my usual, the fabulous superfood salad. The food is always great here. My kids absolutely love your pasta dish. But today, it was the very kind gesture by Verna and the staff at H&L which I want to acknowledge. Verna approached me on her way out the door as her shift ended to let me know that my food was taken care of. The H&L staff covered my bill as a small gesture for the work that I am doing to uncover what happened with the Cervical Check scandal. I am humbled.
