My fiancé and I are visiting from San Diego and are staying in Hermitage. We drove almost an hour just to eat here and it definitely did not disappoint. This is by far the best bbq we have found after being in Tennessee for over a week. All of the food is to die for. While sitting at the bar, we met the owner and had a lovely conversation. It was a great find close to home. The Allstars were the baked beans, corn pudding, smoked sausage, and the bartender Pam. Food was good and came out quickly, but surprisingly low in smoke notes on some of the other food options we tried. Pam's drinks and attentiveness were on point. YUM!! That needs to be said first. Usually I'm not the biggest fan of dry rubbed wings, but these are awesome. Well-seasoned and came to us nice and hot. I will send back wings if I think they've been par cooked because they just get tough but these were delicious. The brisket queso was flavorful, but a bit thick. The brisket was good, but the queso needs some flavor but I'm sure that is a personal preference. The bartender was attentive, helpful and personable. Honey fire is awesome BBQ. People couldn't be friendlier and service is quick. Have eaten in, done take out and ordered catering from them. 12 lbs of pulled pork on the spot, no problem! Just enough to feed my immediate family for a day or two - we can eat! Great choice of sauces and really nice fake grass out front so kiddies can play once they're done screaming and spilling stuff, I mean eating their food nicely. We tried the pulled pork and brisket. Both were good. We loved the sides - mac and cheese, fries and baked beans. The Alabama white sauce was a pleasant surprise. We've eaten at HF multiple times, inside and out and have even catered an event with their services. Food is great - do yourself a favor and get the queso max & cheese, baked beans and corn pudding. BBQ is great and those that like bark comment how delicious it is. Everyone we've had visit loves HoneyFire. Wow! This place was great. There were several menu items that looked so good that I had a hard time deciding. I ended up choosing the Alabama Slammer and I wasn't disappointed. I would recommend without a bun though. There's so much meat on it that you can hardly pick it up and eat it as a sandwich. It was very flavourful. I had the queso Mac and Parmesan green beans as my sides. We came here with a big group and everyone loved it. I tried the flat fries and those were good too. Right off the highway which rocks. In a strip mall city thing so not very romantic but we did watch a young churchgoing family romp around. CJ the bartender was a total doll, love that guy! He did point out the fact that I was wearing socks with my sandals and i felt self aware. After watching a nearby party pray before their meal, I thought of my sins. I really like this place. I've been multiple times. The wings are good the dry rub has sugar in it though, I like the Alabama white sauce personally. I have had the southern shine sandwich multiple times, it's so big you might need a fork and knife. Their salad is dressed already and done so to perfection, it's huge and very shareable. lol, with lots of stuff on it (I like stuff). The green beans are canned and salty with Parmesan cheese on them, I did not care for them. I did like the mac & cheese and the fries though. They appeared to have a good beer selection, though I've never had a drink there or been to their happy hour.I might go visit them today l, after writing this review, it makes me hungry for their food. It does not get any better than this! I don't even know where to begin. Friendly staff, the food is amazing. They have an appetizer which is cream cheese with a spicy honey BBQ sauce over it served with crackers. The sauce was so good I bought a bottle for home.I had their Pork Sandwich, perfectly cooked with crispy edges, on a homeade sweet Brioche roll that they make inhouse. It makes all the difference. Don't waste your time waiting in lines at downtown or midtown restaurants drive the 10 minutes and eat here! By far the best BBQ we have had in Nashville and we have tried several local and chain places. The signature sauce is a sweet sauce (my fav), the flat fries were delicious and the pulled pork was superb! The meat was perfectly prepared. Harlan Nachos were awesome, just heads up the baked beans are spicy, so we opted to get them on the side. The smoked chicken sandwich was great as were the Parmesan green beans. This is a hidden gem that many must know about. We came here before our movie at AMC and we were in and out in less than an hour. The place is super clean and the service is great. Sofia at the cashier was super nice and made some great recommendations. The food came out pretty fast and was piping hot! We ordered the Candied Bacon Queso, Southern Shine sandwich, Diablo Jones sandwich, Honey Flat Fries, White Queso Mac, Hoosier Corn Pudding, Sugar Cream Pie, and the PB Nana Pudding. The queso was average I expected a bit more from it flavor wise, but it may just be my particular taste. I'm not sure if they fry the tortilla chips themselves but ours were either stale or over cooked. Extremely hard to chew so we really wasted it unfortunately. The southern shine was a great portion. I love how you can get so much food for $12.95. The sandwich is full of meat, and you get two sides. That's a hard fine these days. Conversely, the pulled pork was very dry and too chewy. It looks really nice when it comes out, but leaves you underwhelmed after. What was perfect was the white queso mac and the honey flat fries! I may come back for those two sides alone. The sugar cream pie tastes bland and basic in my opinion but I don't have any past experiences to compare it to. My friend loved it though so I'll chalk it up to preference. Lastly, the PB Nana Pudding is delicious!! I was hesitant ordering this because I hate bananas but Sofia said it's not overly saturated with bananas and she doesn't like them either but she likes this one so we tried it. I'm so glad I listened to her. To sum it all, it's a cool place to visit, but I wouldn't go out of my way. I'm giving 3 stars because it's a bbq place and that was one of the worst parts of the meal. Being from Texas we know BBQ and I wasn't impressed. Nonetheless, the service, sides, and desert make up for the bbq and still leave you full without breaking the bank.*UPDATE* 10/12/19I have visited Honeyfire about 3 times since writing this review and my views have changed. My new favorite item is the banana pudding. I order it almost every time I go to AMC next door. Also, the smoked sausage sandwich has also become a new favorite. This place definitely sets a high bar for bbq not only in the Nashville area but all over the south. I stopped in to see what it was all about while taking a trip from Texas to Ohio and it's definitely the best I've found in the area. They don't cover everything in sauce!!! That's huge for me as sauce is a crutch you use to hide bland dry Bbq. They have perfected the presentation and serve it perfectly with a little dash of rub sprinkled on the pulled pork when served. Food is delicious! I didn't like the jalapeño Mac and cheese though. The jalapeño flavor was too strong for me. Pulled pork and corn pudding were good. The best part of this place is the PB 'Nana Pudding!!!! If you like banana pudding dessert you NEED to give this one a try! It's banana pudding with real bananas and peanut butter mixed in with nutter butter cookies instead of vanilla wafers. Parking is easy. They have a patio. I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. I only sort of like bbq in the first place but the sides alone were delicious. I had a half rack of ribs and my husband had the smoked sausage. Pretty cool place with good customer service and great feel to it. The Menu selection is good and the food is even better, I would definitely recommend trying the Honey Flat Fries and the Hoosier Corn pudding really good.
