Holiday Inn Reading - West

I dont chose to stay in hotels - i do so because i have to. So when i’m there i want to be comfortable. Reading West has everything i need. Very comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms and comfortable amenity areas. Best of all it has a Gym. Some local area hotels that i have stayed in are rather tired but i prefer to stay in Reading West because it is as close to feeling at home as i can get. More...

Really enjoyed our short stay at the holiday Inn padworth Lane newbury good quality bed linen and very comfortable nights sleep and the bathroom was of a high standard and it was great to have a bath not just a shower! The only issue we had was the lack of toilet roll ..we only had a half used toilet roll which for a new arrival was not particularly what we had expected so please take note housekeeping staff that it looks better to present the room with a new roll and toiletries for all your new arrivals also top up those tea and coffee sachets that you are very economical with .guests always appreciate plenty of beverages . We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding, my husband is a wheelchair user so we stayed in an adapted room which was a good size,very large comfortable bed, even better was a bath for him. Plenty of hanging space and cupboards. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom in our room needs updating, but friends who stayed in another room had had there bathroom already done and it look fantastic.||Hotel staff were so helpful and very friendly from all the reception girls to the lovely lady in the restaurant in the morning that allowed me to take my husband something to eat as he was unable to make it. ||Just want to mention the lovely manager Kumar ,this man was brilliant at his job , warm , friendly and never stopped running around helping people. So nice to see a hands on manager with time to talk to people as well as run a very well organised hotel & wedding reception... ||would definitely stay again More...

Holiday inn Reading West is one of my favourite stays while on business in the AreaNice large comfortable rooms with nice revamped bathroom Looks like a nice country pub from the outside with ample free parking which is nice theses days with the holiday innI will always consider this hotel when in the area depending on the rate

From my initial phone call to the hotel on the evening of my arrival staff were helpful and efficient. Although no transport from Aldermaston Station I was advised on the quickest way to reach the hotel, although I was a bit disappointed there was no reasonably priced taxi available but this was not down to the fault if the hotel. It may be something to perhaps think about in case future elderly people need more help if travelling by public transport. Asides from that once I arrived all staff were friendly , helpful and efficient. I would recommend and if in the area would definitely stay again. More...

I booked this hotel in advance so got it at a very reasonable price. Everything about the hotel was great. I was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews, I realise that some people like to complain. We slept well in the enormous bed. The heating wasn't working but a heater and a fan was provided, we stayed in November but didn't need to use the heater as the room was quite warm in fact we needed to use the fan. The hotel was a life saver as we had booked to stay in a near by hotel in Aldermaston in an accessible room only to find there was 18 steps to the room ! !Calling in to the hotel on the off chance they were able to accommodate us in an accessible room. Although the room was located on the ground floor the shower was over the bath not very accessible however my wife did copeWe never book wheel chair access as although my wife is a wheel chair user it is unfair to occupy such a room as there are those that are permanently wheel chair boundThe room was clean although the bathroom had paint peeling off the skirting boards and the carpet in the public entrance area had a patch in it The air con had been decommissioned however it was early November and a separate room heater was supplied that was adequateAlthough the room was adjacent to the A4 there was no road noise and we slept wellThe reception and restaurant staff were extremely helpfulValue for money was good and would recommend and use the hotel if we were in the area again More...
