Friendly check in lady. Lots of parking. Next to a Morrison’s inc a good priced petrol station. Easy to find. Decent sized, clean rooms. ||||Got to room and all was fine except that there was no iron. I called reception and they said I had to go down to collect one myself which I did do (pic attached). Lady got it swiftly for me; no wait. She even showed me how to use it. Strangely had 2 bottles of hand soap in the room for just me but can’t complain about having too much of something. ||||At dinner, food had to be ordered at the bar and sauces were on side to help yourself to sachets. There were lots of men here. I only saw one other lady. I had steak and chips. The steak was tiny but I had loads of chips. The food came quickly. Chips and onion rings were nice and hot but the steak was cold; food was also served on cold plates. The mushrooms had a particularly nice flavour. I had lager shandy and there was Lager a choice of Becks or Stella. There were tables available in the restaurant with plug sockets if needed. You help yourself to table. The comfy blue seats are too low for the table so are good for drinks, but it’s better to sit on smaller tables to eat. A lady working there kept asking a man behind me if he was ok; I didn’t get asked and nor did the group in front of me so I guess he must have been a special person. There were 2 TV’s in the restaurant but they were not too loud & you don’t have to sit close to them. Tv’s had the news on when I was there. || ||I noticed whilst sat in the restaurant that the large glass window I was sat next to was next to cars in the car park...I didnt check but I was thinking it seemed a great place for a nutter to drive straight into the place. ||||Overall a comfortable stay. 2 nights B&B attending a wedding, very clean, the friendly staff made it a pleasure to be there, good size room, pretty good buffet breakfast, nice beds, good shower. Whilst taking my daughter to see edge hill University in Liverpool we stopped here over night||What a fantastic hotel punching well above its wit bearing in mind it’s only an express inn it was amazing value for money ||If you are intended to explore Manchester and don’t want to pay loads for a hotel this is the one for you

the hotel was ideally situated for my business trip, and the rooms were very comfortable with all the amenities a overnight stay requires. The staff were very helpful, and willing to go the extra mile, to assist.parking was ideal even if concerning as its a very open car park arrangement. We stayed for one night had family room. Nice and clean they had heating issue technical fault but gave a heater to keep us warm. Breakfast is good tea cofee hot chocolate fresh juice with croissant toast beans sausage scrambled eggs and ham slice.. They have cereal fruit diffetent varieties. Weekend breakfast is till 10.30am. Check out is 11am. I had to requests 1hour late check-out and they did this complementry. Staff were realy nice. Theres tea and coffe in the room. We stayed here for 2 nights and we was really pleased with the staff at the hotel nothing was too much trouble, the room was spotless and had everything you needed any toiletries you had run out of or didn’t have they kindly gave you at reception, the breakfast had plenty of choice and you could get a breakfast and a drink to go if you didn’t have time to sit down, we used the gym it had a good choice of machines and weights and there was plenty to do in the area surrounding the hotel

Sadly the hotel is enduring a persistent problem with the air conditioning we were informed. Ours in room 243 did not work at all, thankfully, as the noise from the in room unit was intrusively loud and would have needed to be turned off in order to sleep. We were provided with a electric heater, which provided adequate heating. Also the in room safe was locked, with no unlock code available. Again a ongoing problem, we were informed.It would have been nice to have been appraised of these problems prior to arrival, rather than being offered apologies after checking in.
