Convenient location, nothing I wanted to visit was more than a ten minute walk away. The view of the castle keep was lovely, although from our room it was partially obstructed by a large tree.
Rooms were comfortable enough. The only downside was the shower which was very slow with very little power, took a good 5 mins just to get shampoo off my hair.
The receptionist when we arrived was very welcoming and friendly, and the cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in the Fairfax room. Lovely room, lovely food. Staff very friendly. Parking service is £20 and well worth it but first come first serve basis so get in early.

We had fantastic few days in York. We found the staff in the hotel to be very friendly and helpful. Hotel is central for all attractions and most were within a mile of the hotel. Only downside , which is a minor complaint , was the showers which were not very powerful. All in all though thoroughly enjoyable stay and will definitely be back. More...

Love this hotel. The surroundings are lovely. Everything is in walking distance. We ate an evening meal in the hotels restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location in the city centre, but a little expensive. Still, it is quite posh though so not sure I’d call it overpriced. Stayed there one night and was lucky enough to get a room with a view of Clifford’s Tower, which was nice. Not sure what the views are like on the other side. Great spot for tourist and for folks on a night out as the clubs and pubs are all nearby, though if you’re here for the latter you perhaps won’t care what the hotel is like as you won’t remember it! Really like this hotel because of its location. Hilton honors and you get two bottles of water. If your a breakfast person try and get a deal where it’s included it’s a tad pricey but is an excellent menu. Nice bar. Always found the staff very helpful and friendly. Nice large well equipped rooms. If your lucky you may get one facing Clifford Tower. Again an excellent location More...

View from a ‘Balcony Room’ at Hilton York on Tower Street.
You can’t fault the view of the Eye of York / Clifford’s Tower.
The service in the hotel is excellent. It isn’t cheap and food and drinks are priced at the highest level. Great location.

We stayed as a group of 19 people on a hen party. Found the hotel to be excellently located for the night life. The rooms were spacious although very hot and we could not control the temperature within the room without opening a window. The breakfast was excellent. The reception staff were very helpful and went out if their way to accommodate us. More...

Nice and decent rooms - placed in a good location you can walk to most places and tourist attractions easily - it was a 5 min walk from the viking centre. The breakfast was nice - standard sized rooms but was hot in summer with very little way of cooling - preety standard, as good as a premier inn, but well located - be aware if your driving the car park costs a fortune (think it was 10 to 20 quid a day) More...

Comfortable reasonable size room. We we're lucky with parking. Be aware there is limited on site parking at twenty pounds per night. Valet parked only. Breakfast was fair. Would use again. More...

Great location as 5-7 min. walk to city centre.
RM. 152 (2×double beds) good for couple and young adult. Spacious after moving a some furniture around.
Bed edges really sharp and hurt when bumped into.
Toilet/ bath area restrictive. One at a time.
Breakfast , good choice , also gluten free cereals, vegetarians catered for.
Parking a few meters away- council controlled, pay meter.
Service: satisfactory.

Visited hotel for afternoon tea which was perfectly adequate for the price paid and compares to similar experiences elsewhere. The staff were friendly and managed the room well which despite it being a Monday afternoon was quickly filling up with people who were booked in for afternoon tea. More...

Convenient city centre location and typical good standard of service.
The hotel has its own parking but at extra cost (£20 per day) that is not clearly stated.

I have today booked Xmas Day lunch at the Hilton Hotel York for the 2nd year running.
The hotel is situated next to the Cliffords Tower and benefits from that car park.
The carvery Xmas Day lunch consists of a drink at the bar on arrival, choice of Starters, full carvery with fillet of salmon as well as full carvery meats and a vegetarian option. Choice of desserts all at your pre booked table. After lunch you adjourn to a conservatory for tea/coffee,mince pies and sherry. There is a jazz trio playing during your meal. I think this is ideal for my family and I as it all takes place in lovely surroundings served by nice people. Prices are £56 per person, £28 for kids under 12 and those under 3 eat free. I really recommend this option.

Excellent property. Good staff, only ate breakfast in the hotel, which was of a high standard. Only slightly negative comment, the bathroom was really small.

Lovely hotel, everything about it was great except the main thing - could feel the bed base through the mattress. With a better mattress would have been an easy 4 stars but then walked of sleep let it down a bit.

Rooms were really clean and staff were really attentive and friendly. Lots of space in the rooms and didn't have much noise in the evening. Breakfast had lots of choice and was really impressed at speed of valley parking. Would stat again for sure, really close to all main attractions. More...
