Jon Meadows from High-End Headshots took amazing headshots of my daughter. He is very responsive via email. The studio is easy to get to and has parking. He sent tips and information ahead of time regarding what to wear and bring and what would happen during the session. Jon was very easy to work with and made my 14 year old daughter feel comfortable. This is way more than a headshot. I've had my photo taken hundreds of times, but never had someone coach me like Jon did. He has an incredible gift (and method) to capture your personality in your photo .He makes you feel extremely comfortable (which is big if you aren't used to sitting in front of a camera) ... and is really intentional about the emotion he evokes.Whether it's looking strong, open, successful, friendly, Jon knows how to capture the emotions and the essence of your face. Jon was patient with me and guided me through the process, even allowing me to look at the images on his tethered laptop. In the end he captured some really great images . The experience was one that I feel incredibly grateful for. It left me with a handful of wonderful and priceless images that I would have otherwise never had. It also has reminded me of how far I have come in regards to my own health and wellness journey – and still how far I have to go in regards to self confidence and continual self love.It is odd, because often I feel a lot younger than I actually am and my confidence a lot lower than I let on to be – especially as I feel knee deep in the journey of self discovery – but yet, when I look at the images I see a woman, not a child – and a confident woman at that. Jon transformed the photo as if crisp blue water were behind us. Nope - he captured the blue sky reflecting off the muddy local waters (it's been raining tons in DC!). When I was looking for a headshot photographer, I wanted to see a portfolio with good photography. When I found Jon Meadows Photography, not only did I get great photos, the experience I had when taking them was an enjoyable one, too. I was surprised at how technical headshots can really be, but Jon made the entire process fun. You would think that getting new headshots would be a complicated process. Well--it could be, but Jon makes it painless. There's alot to think through in terms of what to wear, what to bring, what to think about, how to pose, which picture to pick, and more. Jon has thought through all of this for you. His website will guide you through the pre-buy process and help you decide what you want and what to expect. Once you've decided on a package, he will send a calendar invite with all the necessary details. He will also send an email with short but complete instructions of what to wear, what to bring, and other things I wouldn't have thought through. When the session starts, he gives you a quick runthrough of what to expect and how to get the best pose. He gives honest and helpful thoughts about which poses work and which don't. Jon is a consummate professional, but also very personable. He is able to keep you comfortable so your headshots look natural and not stiff. Jon is simply an amazing headshot photographer! I initially connected with Jon via LinkedIn and he is just an incredible guy. On top of that, he’s excellent at what he does. Jon really made it easy to relax during the shoot, and coached me to be myself and let my natural smile come out. He made me laugh by surprising me with quick one-liners. The scheduling process was very easy, and the studio was nice and clean. Jon made preparing the for the headshot super easy by sending a “headshot prep” email that included style and grooming tips to help me look my best. During the shoot, he let me review the images he took after he finished a few, so that I could be comfortable with what he was creating. In the end, he helped me narrow the pics down to the number that I had requested. Within days, he sent me the final products, and added a few outtakes as a bonus! I was really pleased with how my photos turned out. I've always been wary of such photoshoots because a) I am super awkward and b) I am not a supermodel or a teen permanently on IG so I don't know my angles very well. Jon is great at putting people at ease, and there were definitely moments where I smiled/laughed a little too hard! I'm glad I caught him just before the Ladies Headshot Night, because that ended up being the best deal because makeup was provided and we got to choose three shots. Add in the bubbly and it was a great time. Jon and the makeup artist (sorry I forgot her name!) were incredibly attentive and patient and took everything I said into account, which made for an enjoyable experience.
