I worked as a volunteer Mentor for Mind HEY, from June 2012 until about September 2013, when I left to pursue further Support Work jobs in Sheffield. I gained such a lot in terms of experience, unity, working with service users, care co-ordinators, my Mentoring project managers, the training Mind provided me in understanding mental health, using effective communication, gaining new skills and insights into supporting people to overcome mental health barriers, and challenge the stigma. I honestly wish I could go back and work with service users again within that team! I wonder if L.Wood and L.Hamilton are still there? More...
