Had the most perfect couple of days staying in the Bethnal lodge. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Before arriving we received emails from the owners Vicky and Chris with all the information we needed for our stay, plus a list of the extras we could add to make our stay as perfect as possible. We arrived to find a gorgeous afternoon tea and bubbly on ice awaiting us, and a card explaining it was a gift from our family. This was a perfect start to what was to be a perfect couple of days. Vicky and Chris have thought of everything, from basic home comforts to quirky extras like the honesty pantry, record player and atmospheric lighting. It was like a little Aladdin’s cave of goodies. We spent hours chilling in the hot tub overlooking the orchard/countryside, relaxing on the sun loungers and building fires in the fire pit, all in complete peace and quiet and privacy. When not enjoying the outside space we snuggled up inside watching television and listening to records. The bathroom was just as well designed as the rest of the lodge with a huge walk in shower comprising of two rainforest showers. Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to try out everything, we simply had to fit in a soak in the huge bath tub located in the main room with views out over the countryside and the television. We were gutted when our stay came to an end, we could have stayed much longer and will definitely be returning/recommending it to others. Wonderful rural retreat, perfect location, perfect hosts. I surprised my husband to a weekend at bethnal&bec for our first wedding anniversary. I couldn’t have picked a more perfect destination, every little detail thought of and a quirky twist effortlessly pulled off throughout. Omg where do we start! From the minute we arrived everything was simply perfect. We stayed in the Bec lodge and we were not disappointed. This place is absolutely stunning and Chris and Vicky have thought of every single little detail it is all just so amazing! In the room we had been left a hamper of treats for us and the dog as part of our initial booking, prosecco on ice, beers snacks, dog treats and fresh steaks (which we enjoyed with breakfast the next morning!) It was such a personal touch with a handwritten welcome card too! From the decor, to the stocked pantry, the pre heated hot tub, breakfast essentials, Netflix and cinema screen and the blissful silence out in the courtyard (I could literally go on forever!) Everything is insanely beautiful, absolutely spot on. The only downside was having to leave!! Just home from the most amazing mini break to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Pure luxury, with lots of thought/detail put into making your stay as comfortable as possible. You don’t need to go out, as there are well stocked cupboards with items included. But other items you can purchase. The hot tub was lovely with peaceful views and sunsets. The cinema screen with Netflix was great for watching films. Or listen to vinyl records, which again a lovey touch. Luxury linens, towels, robes, slippers and throws, what’s not to like. We went to the local pub The Bull, food excellent. We also took a lovely walk to the windmill, through the fields via a footpath near the church. You can actually see the retreats from the field, and about 2 miles. Excellent communication with Marlen the PA, who always responded to queries quickly. My wife and I loved every second of our wonderful two day minimoon staying in Bethnal. The weather might have been against us but nothing could detract from how amazing this place is. Storm Gareth was not stopping us getting in the hot tub!! We had an incredibly relaxing stay and I can't speak highly enough of what Vicky and Chris have achieved here. Me and my husband had an amazing stay at Bethnal & Bec. They have thought of every little thing, from the additional extras such as the popcorn machine or Marshmallows to toast on the fire and bath bombs in the bathroom. Billy and I stayed at Bethnal and Bec in Feb 2019. I can honestly say it was one of the best nights 'off' we've had in ages. .. everything was thought of, pantry, minibar, giant TV with EVERYTHING you need on it..... and the way the rooms were decorated was just gorgeous. We had lovely burgers waiting for us to cook when we got there!! and the hot tub.. the HOT TUB.. it looks out over the beautiful countryside and you just feel so relaxed when you're there xx definitely recommend for a luxury stay xx More...

If you want tranquil setting with excellent accommodation and just to finish it off outstanding customers services with complimentary beautiful country walks this is definitely the place to stay in Hertfordshire. Freezer full of great foods to purchase, welcome pack with plenty to offer for all tastes, full equipt kitchen. Amazing cinema viewing if Netflix, there is just too much to mention in the accommodation. Lots to offer in the village and all main shopping just a short drive away. We had a lovely recent stay here in the BEC room. From start to finish the experience was flawless, Chris and Vicky went out of there way to ensure we had what we needed and were able to cater to a specific request from us (chocolate cake and strawberries to be left in the room). The room was extremely clean and has everything you need whether you are staying in or going out. We stayed two nights and cooked the first night then went to the local ‘the bull’ the second night. Hot tub was lovely my husband spent the entire time in there and then we wined down with the cinema screen in the room! Small touches were lovely like the free tipple of gin and whisky and you are surrounded by lots of greenery. We originally wanted to go on some walks but loved the room so much we stayed in! B&B was the best break i have had. My husband and I stayed here over Christmas and we had an amazing time! It is such a nice place to spend quality time together as a couple. The facilities were great, especially the log burner, hot tub, the amazing bathroom, the projector screen and the well stocked pantry - we enjoyed the drams of whisky and gin! Just returned from a week staying in Bethnal with our two cockapoos Cara and Niamh. It has been truly wonderful, an oasis to switch off, chill out and do what you want. The room has everything you need and more. Lots of places to visit and not far from Cambridge definitely use the park and ride). Vicky and Chris are fantastic hosts that give a warm welcome and are there when you need them. There are some great country pubs local and definitely in a 15 mile radius that are dog friendly - The Sword Inn Hand, The Fox and Duck and The Cowper Arms are the ones we visited whilst we were out and about We love it so much we’ve already booked to go back!! We stayed here a few weeks ago and it was the best place I've been too. The decor was incredible and every little thing was thought of. There were even personal touches on arrival. We stayed in the room with the projector which was pretty cool to watch a film on. You are able to have a fire burning outside as you watch the sun set and of course the hot tub is the best part!!! If you want a stress free night away then I Deffo reccomend.. Plus I think it's great to support small Businesses.. We can't wait to book our next stay xxxxx More...

We stayed at Bethnal&Bec for my birthday and had an amazing time! It was a truly magical little hideaway which had lovely, thoughtful touches. Loved the high tech aspects with the lighting and heating, as well as the more rustic feel having the wood burner and roll top bath in the room. We did the pizza package which was loads of fun and very tasty. The walks in the local area are beautiful and Chris and Vicky recommended loads of great walks, things to do and pubs/restaurants nearby. There’s a fab array of snacks and drinks stocked in your room and yummy frozen meals to delve into in the freezer (we had a Thai red prawn curry and it was ). Overall one of the most lovely places I’ve ever stayed and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!! X More...

The most wonderfully relaxing break! Every little detail has been thought about and the retreats have been kitted out to such a high standard. We pre ordered the pizza kit which was loads of fun making and cooking pizzas. The brekky supplies were spot on - seriously good bacon! The design of the retreats (we stayed in Bec) is so cool and quirky yet so cosy and homely. It was so nice to get away and relax the minute we walked through the door - a perfect child free break! One night away is just what the doctor ordered for us parenty type folks. In a world where we are all so connected we are becoming more disconnected to those closest to us. Soooo, Mascara-less i resembled an exhausted naked mole rat and Book of Dad ageing like a sexy version of Pablo Escobar in his later years, we were ready.... We have never needed a night away more. Vicky & Chris have considered every attention to detail in when putting together their luxury rural retreat offering @bethnalandbec .. There is an honesty bar and pantry, deliciously curated snacks and beverages, we pre-ordered a steak dinner which we knocked up after a rural walk taking in the picturesque Cromer Windmill -it was gorgeous, there's a hot tub, netflix, @avedauk products in the bathroom.. if you wanted a massage or have specific diet requirements that too can be catered for..They care and it really shows..We stayed in Bethnal, it was refined and sexy. Just how I like my rural retreats.... We were welcomed with a warm note and a chilled bottle of bubbles...they know us so well..After a restful sleep on a cloud of dreams we indulged in a cooked breakfast included in the cost and a rain shower for two (not at the same time, that would be silly).. four legged friends are most definitely welcome but leave the kids at home guys ok..?! We stayed in Bethnal - such a fab place, I cannot recommend enough. I was fully chilled within an hour of arriving, we had everything we needed without having to go anywhere for 4 days. The dogs loved the field & we couldn’t get enough of watching sunsets from the hot tub, sitting by the fire pit & catching up on Netflix. We booked Bethnal&Bec for our wedding night and following night in July and we were so impressed with everything... the perfect getaway/hideaway so close to home! The little hamper of breakfast essentials meant we could have our first breakfast as man and wife in the privacy of our lodge and thank you for the thoughtful gift of complimentary prosecco! We would highly recommend B&B for a romantic getaway! We also visited a nearby pub, The Bull which is a 5 min walk away, for a delicious meal if you fancy getting out and about! Absolutely fell in love with this place. What a gem. We came for our minimoon and it was just so relaxing. Chris and Vicky were most accommodating and made every effort to ensure we had the perfect stay. There were so many personal touches and we felt so special from the minute we arrived. The pantry was easy to follow and the staple pantry on offer provided everything we needed - you could stay in the retreat for days on end without leaving!!! We stayed in Bec with the cinema screen which was awesome. There was Netflix too which meant we had films galore to choose from. The outside hot tub was so relaxing, we managed to use this both during the day and night, Chris and Vicky had this warmed up for us and ready on arrival. We added the pimp my pizza extra which was so fun. The dough was already prepared with all the toppings ready. We had fun rolling the dough, making the pizza from scratch and cooking in the stone oven outside. From the pantry, we tried the curry and samosas. HIGHLY recommended. The samosas were the best we’ve ever tasted, I just wish we lived closer so we could stock our freezers!!! Chris and Vicky include information for days out and local eateries too, so we knew where to go and what to do! We visited Hitchin and Letchworth. We recommend tapas for lunch at Los Reyes Tapas and coffee at Coffee 21- both were brilliant, we can see why they have been recommended!!! I could carry on writing an essay but i’m going to stop now. All in all, we could not have asked for a better minimoon and we are looking forward to coming to stay again - next time we’ll try Bethnal. Thank you again so so much Chris and Vicky. Didn’t want to drag ourselves away from this beautiful hideaway. We loved all the added food and drink luxuries and although not free, we were saved from having to find a shop and all were home made and of excellent quality. Even the dog treats! Home cinema, magazines, DVD’s, hot tub, lots of choice of drinks and snacks. All tucked away in this pretty little corner of England. Our dogs enjoyed the paddock with the owners’ dog as the weather was too hot to walk them far. Thank you to Bluebell for her fresh eggs! Can’t wait to come back � More...

Me and my partner visited Bec for a couple of nights recently and we both had a fantastic time. Vicky and Chris were brilliant hosts who were there if we needed them but also gave us privacy. The home cinema was awesome and so was the double bath and rainforest shower. The location is perfect, I loved how there was a list of recommendations on where to eat/explore near by.
