Absolutely Amazing! Rachel Richmond is a fab Interior Designer!

16 January 2017

We interviewed a number of designers and Rachel from Hen & Crask was the most professional, friendliest and knowledgeable. Rachel went above and beyond for us and no task was too big.

Rachel designed our entire new build house which exceeded all our expectations. She stayed in budget, worked with existing furniture we had and made our house better than we could have ever imagined. With the limited budget we had, she made the house look exceptional. Everyone who has visited our house are extremely impressed.

I undertook a renovation of my house in Chiswick, West London to add 700 sq ft which required me to move out for 9 months.

I involved Rachel in the design phase for the choice of flooring, lighting, kitchen, paint schemes, furniture, rugs, blinds and bathrooms. On a job this size the level of decision making is overwhelming and in my case managing my full time job meant I did not have the bandwidth to do the discovery work to investigate all options so I needed help.

Rachel presented around 3 options for each scheme to be chosen which fitted the spec and style I was looking for and she then made recommendations for me to decide on.

I couldn't be happier with the end result and I can't recommend Rachel highly enough in bringing it all together by making the right recommendations for me.

We approached Hen and Crask to help us with our large new build in South Oxfordshire. We had quite a few ideas ourselves but we needed someone to bring these ideas together. Rachel was brilliant at listening to us but also in encouraging us to try new ideas as well. We have found her to be extremely friendly, professional and approachable at all times. We feel that her input has been invaluable in helping us realise our dream. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone thinking about hiring an interior designer. More...

Initial consultation is free of charge. I like to meet the potential client in the space and discuss needs, likes and dislikes. I will provide a quotation based on what we discuss and am flexible as to whether the client would rather pay hourly or per project. I usually put the schemes together within 2-3 weeks and then present my ideas to the client. I give the client the option of project managing themselves or I am happy to provide that service. If they are buying pieces through my trade partners I can offer competitive prices.

The job of an interior designer is to listen to client needs and meet their expectations creatively. I have worked as a designer for a very long time and cater for all styles.

I love meeting new people and I am passionate about design. I love meeting client expectations and going that one step further. No job is too big or too small - I love helping clients achieve the look they dream of!

I worked for many years in television and, when I left London, undertook a huge renovation of a property in Oxfordshire. It was during this project that I decided to move into interiors. I studied some short courses at KLC School of Design in Chelsea and used my business skills to set up a practice. Despite degrees in the subject existing, I do think the visual side of good interior design comes from within and you either have a flair for it or you don't.

I have many years' experience in Interior Design and I am passionate about what I do. I like to get to know my clients and offer a very personal service. I listen well and will only push a client out of their comfort zone if they are happy with that!
